I'm 30-ish and I have a receding hair line. I want it fixed. Wigs are okay but I'm looking for a long term solution, so I'm okay with investing in it. I've read mixed things online about hair transplant practices. I've also heard things about Finasteride... does anyone have any advice on finding a good doctor/practice?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Kova,

I'm assuming you are looking for advice on hair transplant doctors that get good looking results? I wish I could help you there.

As far as the finasteride, or dutasteride, it can stop further hair loss due to DHT and even lead to some regrowth. It's my understanding that combining with monoxidil gives better results in most cases.

My hair loss is too advanced so wigs are my only option I fear.

I've heard that Dr. Mayer in California does excellent hair work. (As well as FFS.) He supposedly patented many techniques for achieving a more natural look.

Shannon, thanks for the help! The one thing about wigs are great when it comes to changing style on a whim. I only have one right now are it's okay quality. There are some out there for $800! Those ones do look nice though. I've got a $150 one that I where with different hats.

Carrie, yes, a natural looking is the most important part to me, because my hair is important to me. ^_^
It may also be good to consult with him because I was totally wondering if the hair line should come before, during or after a brow reduction.

Now for more homework!
