I'm 5'8", borderline small-medium frame size. I wouldn't mind being a little shorter even though there are a LOT of girls around here that are my height or taller.

Why do people say "grow some balls"? Balls are weak and sensitive. If you wanna be tough, grow a vagina. Those things can take a pounding.

I started out life at 6 ft tall. When I first experimented with transitioning over 30 years ago, the height of most women around my age was like 5 ft 4 inches. I had already spent most of my life being an easily spotted target of ridicule. I wasn't up to volunteering for a lifetime of it.

Some 30 years later it is a far different world. I often see 6ft tall women in heels. Plenty of 5 ft 10'ers. Still plenty of short ones too. When I am out on the streets I don't get anxious over my height. I am a bit closer to my goal height thanks to gravity, but I am still 5'11" and over 6 ft in heels which I often wear since I love doing girlie girl. Sometimes I do get what I feel is a too long of a stare. I can't know exactly what is in their head. I do know for certain that a) I am tall. b) I am thin. c) I am in a nice skirt or dress. d) In in a land where women in my age group gave up long ago and many are double the weight they should be and dress like slobs. Gee... any wonder I might get looked at?

I'm 5'3" and practically hate it lol. I would be in heaven at 5'6" at least but thinking about shoving 3 inch shoe inserts into my shoes just makes my calve muscles cringe.
My husband is 6'1" so I practically look like a child next to him.
I run a FtM blog where I pour my experiences out for others to read. Check it out!

I'm 5' 11" (maybe 6' + by now  :( ), which would make me pretty tall in general (ugh). Even before I knew I was trans, I wished I was shorter. Funny note: whenever I see 1) guys who're taller than me 2) women who're around my height (and some even taller than me :o ) I feel happy and want to stand next to them and be like "Look how short I am."

I was 187cm but I have lost a centimeter since HRT!

I was so paranoid at first about my height but I realised it is probably the one thing I can do absolutely nothing about so I stopped worrying :)
"Shoulders back, head up, NO SLOUCHING!" Had that drilled into me as a kid, serving me well now!

Also, I stumbled on this. Does anyone else find it funny to have a conversion tool that goes from metric (cm) to feet with a decimal point? Strange.

I'm now 5' 8 3/4", I started out at 5' 9 1/2", but have shrunk over the years (nothing to do with estrogen, just age).

Hex, I'm shorter. I'm 5'2" (157) when I stand very straight and have shoes on. heh.

I think some of these wonderful ladies should give us their tallness.

191cm or a little over 6'3" and for better or worse, it's all legs. When I sit I'm okay. When I stand, I lean back in my hips, which helps hide so height - I've always just done this naturally, I'm not trying to hide my height.

Stereotypical short trans man: 5'1"/ 155 cm. Mostly I laugh about it. I would never get risers for my shoes.

5'9.5" here, and terrified of heels. Funny, as a boy in grade school I always wished I was taller (my brother is 6'2"), and now I wish I could shrink a few inches. Maybe I just need more tall friends? Ha!

Same here.

I don't really mind being short though.

5'8" for years and years, 5'7" my last trip to the doctor's office. I used to think I was too tall, but honestly, I'm only a little over average height (5'5" last I heard) and I don't stand out in a crowd, so I'm content.

5'8" currently. I'm pretty sure I was 5'10" at some point. Perhaps I'll shrink more as I get older?
"There was a sculptor, and he found this stone, a special stone. He dragged it home and he worked on it for months, until he finally finished. When he was ready he showed it to his friends and they said he had created a great statue. And the sculptor said he hadn't created anything, the statue was always there, he just cleared away the small peices." Rambo III
