Hey everyone, I read a lot of experiences from guys who started HRT on gel and then went on injection. I talked to my doctor about some health issues I have on injections and he said that if I'll have them later too, then I should consider the gel. I've been more than half and a year on injections and I don't really see anything changing lately. I've heard changes happen slower on gel but I think my body is done with that pretty much in that time. Little changes can still happen but not anything really visible, am I right? I would love to hear of the emotional changes if there's any when switching from injection to gel (or vice versa). And everything that you think is because of the switch. Thank you!

I changed from injections to gel about two months ago, after 10 or so months on injections. You're right about the changes. Nothing much has happened after about half a year. But I do think the changes are still happening. It's just easier to notice going from zero to something at the start, than to notice going from something to a little more something later on.

As for the switch, I noticed nothing of it. But I have to add that I have noticed nothing emotions wise from testosterone. I always have been a level headed, rational and unemotional person, so it was to be expected. Never got mood swings on shots (like some guys describe they get moody at the end of their shot cycle. Never had that) and switching to gel made me feel no different.

I aggree that changes still happen just not that noticable.
I don't always feel stable emotionally on the injections, I always know when my levely are the highest and at the end I'm yeah moody. It's one of the reasons I'd like to see what it's like on the gel, I was told it's a more steady dose.
Can I ask why did you switch to the gel? If you don't want to write it here than PM please. Sorry if it's an innapropriate question and thanks for your answer!

I want to switch from injections to gel. My reasoning is I feel like I can stick to a daily thing rather than once a week do a shot. Not sure if that makes sense.

But I probably never will because both my doctor and I aren't very rehearsed in testosterone gel.

Gel is indeed more steady, and acts more like a cis-males system. Apparently, they have a bit of a peak in the morning which levels off a little bit during the day. This is why it is recommended to apply it in the morning. And yes, it keeps levels a lot more steady. There is no mega peak every week or every two weeks. If you do feel moody at the end of a cycle, gel might be a good solution for you.

I switched to gel because my acne was out of control, and my T-levels were way too high on a normal dose of shots. My endo recommended gel because of its steadyness, as well as being able to control the dosage a lot easier.

I guess I get what you say Kyler. I prefer having shots every 3 months rather than having to apply gel every day but if it will improve my health I can spend 5 minutes or so with it.
I'm on Nebido right now, so it's just every 3 months which is already better than every 2 weeks but I'd like to see if it can improve or not. Besides moodyness I have some heart problems that I haven't had before HRT. Oh and acne for me too.
Thanks for answering guys especially Mr. X.
