Had my official first "male fail" today

I was out and about today running a few errands; it was spur of the moment and because I left the house in a hurry I was dressed in some grubby jeans and a t-shirt and a hat in boy mode. While I was out I stopped by a local restaurant with an outside seating area; I got some food and went outside to enjoy this fabulous southern California weather that we are having today 8). When I finished eating I headed back into the restaurant to return the tray. A female employee happened to be standing just inside the door and she saw me coming, smiled, and said "I'll take that tray for you, Mam". Mam?!?! Wut? Well, ok then - I told her "thank you" in my best demure female voice and left.

I have known for some time that my hair is the key to my presentation; hair either flips me firmly into a male presentation or firmly into a female presentation because my facial features are androgynous and I can easily go either way.  When I wear a hat it hides my hair and it tends to leave people guessing, and she guessed female  You could just see some small boob bumps under my t-shirt and that might have helped just a bit.

Eva, I looked at your avatar pic. I don't see anything even the slightest bit male about your face. I'm surprised that anyone, anywhere ever genders you male.
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

I was in guy mode yesterday because I suddenly had to run an unexpected errand and I didn't feel like getting dressed up just to run out the door for a few minutes so I didn't. I look *way* different in guy mode; trust me! The male fail thing surprised me though; maybe it's getting to the point that will have to consider going full time sooner than I planned to.

Aww I'm still waiting for my first real male fail :(

How many months into transition are you? X
"What do you fear, lady?" he asked.
"A cage," she said. "To stay behind bars until use and old age accept them, and all chance of doing great deeds is gone beyond recall or desire."

Oh, yeah!  So awesome.

Sadly I never found out exactly when I hit male fail (did I really ever?).  OK, I was a complete lifelong failure as a male, but I went full time after only 2 months and 2 laser sessions.  At first my whole female presentation was nothing more than an elaborate illusion.  Now there's basically very little about me that screams "dude" other than my build.  My wife is tall and built like a tank as well, so people think we're sisters.

Congrats, Eva!  Dude is gone.

My full strength estroversary is Oct 8th of 2013, so I'm a little over 7 months now. I was on a low dose of HRT for a few years before that; I did have a few physical changes from that time but nothing like I've seen over the last few months.

I think it just happened again.

I had to make some repairs to my old jeep today (Just Empty Every Pocket ) and when I got done with that I needed to go to the nearby grocery and pick up a get well card and a dad's day card for my father. I also needed a few other things too, so off i went. I was wearing grubby boy clothes and a baseball cap since I had just crawled out from under the hood and the grocery was only a few blocks away and it wasn't worth spending 30 minutes to fix myself up for a 5 minute errand. I'm sure that my boobs were showing a bit under my t-shirt but I decided that no one would notice.

While I was selecting some produce the stock guy that was on the other side of the display could not stop staring at me. I felt his gaze and ignored it, then I got tired of his staring so I met his gaze and he immediately looked away. When I got into the checkout line an older woman dressed a bit goth like was in front of me and she happened to turn around and she noticed me and then she could not stop staring either.... I pretended to be reading the magazine covers and ignored her, but it went on and on and I was just about to meet her gaze when she finally stopped staring. Finally it was my turn to check out and I did so, and as I left I heard the guy that was behind me saying something that I'm pretty sure was about me also. I didn't stick around to hear it.

Without the baseball cap on this never happens.

I think it's probably a good thing I'm planning on coming out very soon, because my days of passing as a dude seem to be numbered. I also need to rethink these quick dashes out to run short errands in guy mode, because I've done it twice recently and I got pegged both times  :P

Madison (kiara jamie)

funny story, the other day i was grabbing some food at mcdonalds since i was rushed and when i was paying in the drive thru, the girl in the window said in a very normal way "i thought you were a girl", i was wearing my work clothes(hair tied back in a low pony tail, with a baseball cap on, and baggy shirt with carhart pants), i don't think she was saying it in an insulting way, but not in a supportive way either, it is the first time i have heard a stranger verbalize me with male fail, up until now it has just been me catching people staring, but as of lately i think im pretty much at a full male fail in public now, unfortunately im not ready to go full time yet
