should i tell my guidance counselor that i'm trans? would she give me a letter to give to my professors of my preferred name? i want to start using my andro name Terryal Onyx, not using brianna yet until spring semester so i'm going a little ways towards part time.

I don't think it would be in your best interest to ask your teachers to change the name you use twice, especially in such a short time period.

I would wait until you decide on a name and stick with it. Less confusion that way.  :)

I'm not sure which state/school you're in, but once you settle on a name, most collages are pretty great about respecting this sort of thing.  I managed to have the name on all of my records changed without showing legal paperwork or anything, which was probably illegal in retrospect, but I can't complain.

Also, if I were you I'd bite the bullet and go by the name you like best, even if you don't look completely female.  You are going to be hearing the name you choose for the rest of your life, so the fact that you love it should take precedence!  Besides, if passing was a requisite for using your chosen name, I would have no right to call myself Sasha!
My gender problem isn't half as bad as society's.  Although mine is still pretty bad.

ah i see. i already decided to stick with brianna. though it may be a common name, it does hold sentimental value to me, plus i always answer when some one says brianna xD ok, imma wait a little while. i'll re-evaluate the option during spring semester
