So I said I'd post an update when I got the new haircut...The good news is, I hopefully won't have to worry about passing too much longer because I get by letter for HRT this weekend......

Here we go...What does everyone think?

Looking good, man. I see pretty much guaranteed passing in your very near future. Congrats on getting your HRT letter this weekend, too.

Looking awesome, dude! Congratulations on getting that HRT letter! You'll be passing 100% in no time.

Yeahhh,  I definitely have a young face. I suppose someday that'll be a good thing, but at this time I've got people insisting to see my ID and not believing I'm too old for high school. I'm 26. :/ lol

Stone Magnum: Hats are something I hadn't really considered. That might help. Thanks! And actually, if you pull my hair back enough on the side I've got male pattern thinning on the sides, but hard to see without physically holding the hair out of the way. Hopefully T helps further that.

Hats do wonders! Especially if you wear them backwards like a punk!  I never would have thought you'd be 26....while that will come in handy in the long run for aging gracefully it's really going to be a pest. Some old man one asked me, "Shouldn't you be in school?" and I was like "I'm 21" and he just looked so concerned. That's about the only thing it's good for is confusing people! But I wish you so much luck and hope you find what helps. :)

ok, i debated for a long time on whether or not to post here, but might as well jump in.
i know i don't pass.  i also think i'm pretty darn ugly, but it's whatever.  i guess what i'm looking for is some kind of feedback: what features make it or break it, how much you think T could help, what kind of glasses would work best for me (i need a new prescription, and while i'm hoping to switch back to contacts, i at least want backup glasses if i don't just end up stuck with full time glasses again due to costs)?  anything at all, really.
bearing in mind that cutting off my hair is not an option (but braiding, styling, or slapping a hat on what's there is)... have at it.

sorry for having so many but i really suck at taking selfies and i wanted some with/without glasses and more than one angle, so i'll put them in links:

tbh i liked the one on my permit better

First of all...Nice name! It makes me giggle. :x

Second.....Those DL you totally look like a biological male and with your hair pulled back it's a loooooot more convincing.
If you don't have the option to cut all your hair off...I do think hats and beanies would be a really good option.
Beanies, especially, because you can tuck the long part of your hair in, and it will hand there, even without hair in, whereas putting it all under a cap may look kind of lumpy.

Other than that I think you pass! Your jaw line and facial structure are really masculine and I think T would actually help you well!

Meatwagon, Mac is right. The hair makes all the difference. With your hair out of the way you pass completely. If you can I suggest you cut it.

thanks, y'all.  that's a lot better than i was expecting, tbh
i am definitely leaning toward some kind of half-rim for glasses, and something a little bigger/less narrow than my current pair.  (also i cracked up at the pic.  "what kind of glasses?  MAN.")
i never really considered that my features looked masculine; at best, someone told me i had a decent "base" for starting T... so maybe there's something to that.  hopefully i'll keep losing weight like i have been and that will help, too.  the sooner the better, but it at least helps to hear that it's not too terrible in the meantime since it'll probably be a while before i get there.
i think my license/permit photos are the best pics i have of me right now, said no one else ever XD

as for hair, i do usually keep it pulled back when i go out.  on the rare occasion that my friend is around and we go somewhere that's not my usual work/grocery store/doctor's office, i get to have it braided which i think looks best of all.  now if only i could figure out how to do it myself... and i probably would wear hats if i had 'em just because i like hats lol.  i've got a beanie, but usually it's too darn hot.
i know having shorter hair on top would help me pass better for now, but i guess i'm just a long hair kinda guy and i don't wanna give up my progress for something that is (hopefully) temporary.  i know once my face caught up with me, i'd start regretting the haircut.

You pass pretty well. And you don't look ugly; this is coming from someone who considers themselves sorta ugly. The glasses are a tad too big for your face making you look sorta fem; but the shape suit you really well.
They/them pronouns preferred.

i guess everyone is their own worst critic.  i'm sure you ain't as bad as you think, either
but yeah, definitely looking forward to trying on different glasses; these just don't suit me any more.

I didn't even notice that. Haha!!! But you definitely have a good base.
If you're trying to lose weight and have the the physical ability, I suggest focusing on weight training rather than any kind of cardio. Like you can still throw some in, but if you work on building some upper body muscle, like back, shoulders and arms, that could help some!

I think you pass quite well with your hair pulled back! I also don't think you're ugly. I agree the glasses might be slightly large for your face, but the shape does suit you well. :)

I think you look pretty masculine....I just think you have the same problem I have. BABY FACE. Your look masculine, just kind of young. But I know your struggle. I'm almost 24 and I still get carded for everything...whether masculine or feminine presenting.
Hopefully that won't be an issue for me much longer... I should be on T in about a month! I'm so excited! :D Just got an appointment at an informed consent clinic.

Ok. Here's a morning pic of me. At 03:30 AM. Maybe looking a bit tired. Going to work soon.

So the question is, do I look like a butch or do I pass somewhat? Are random people just nice when they say he to me.

I've not started out with hormones. I'm still waiting for my psychiatrist to send the letter to the gender therapist.

Can't wait to get my new binder, when I have, you'll get a whole body pic.

This one's tough for me. I live in a very liberal city and frequently see 'stone butch' lesbians that have somewhat similar appearances. If I saw you in public around here, I'd look for other clues (chest, hips, etc.) beyond your face. I've seen a couple people I pegged as trans men that got pisssseeeedddd when cashiers/waitresses/etc. gendered them as male, so it's hard in areas like this. In other places, I'd say 95% of people would read you as male (maybe just a chesty one if not binding depending on your size) and not give it a second thought.

All that being said, you have very masculine qualities and I don't think random people are just being nice when they gender you as male by any means. Testosterone will help to slim down your cheeks (after the god awful 'moon face' phase, of course) and I think that's really going to help. Their softness is really the only feminine thing about your face.

It's hard to tell; you look really androgynous. Like Stone Magnum said most people would gender you as male and it's only the softness of your face that makes you seem feminine. You're going to pass in no time on T.

I have my initial appointment for HRT in three days and I'm all antsy/fidgeting with my hair.  I think standing it up on end is helping, but I'm worried that I just look kinda butch.  Also I'm not a huge fan of sports jersey type things, and I'm hoping that I'll eventually masculinize enough that I can douse myself in glitter and still read as clearly a guy.  ???

You are totally passable now. With testosterone you think will be even better.
