sharp stomach pain in the mornings on oral estradiol?

Apples Mk.II

I used to believe it was more related to dealing with a lot of anxiety, but it seems like it was not that.

When I was on oral estradiol (progynova and later meriestra), I would get an acute stomachache on the mornings while having breakfast. Sometimes it was hard enough to bring me down to the floor and have me curl into a ball for around one or two minutes, while hitting the wood with my fist. All of that went away on estradiol depot injections, although my endo said it was my imagination and it could be practically anything else.

Well, 10 days ago I went back to pills in preparation for going off E before surgery. And guess what came back. Not as painful as before, but the same old familiar pain. Fun thing, it happens before taking them, with the first bites of breakfast. I usually wait for taking them until there is something in my stomach, in case they could be a bit abrasive (used from other drugs).

Has anybody experienced something similar? I started thinking it was just my imagination, but now it feels like there is a pattern.

Are you lactose intolerant by any chance?

If I were lactose intolerant I should be dead by now. Two coffes with milk daily, cheese and yoghourt.

I used to get "morning sickness" until everything stabilized, but never a sharp pain.

Oh and lactose intolerance won't kill you, but it may make you feel sick and gassy amongst some other problems.

The stress you've been having could have caused an ulcer or sporadic gastritis. I have the worst knife in the stomach pain that comes and goes throughout the year. Surgery anxiety would surely bring that pain back for me. You may think you aren't anxious or nervous, but your gut is like your second brain. Some are more sensitive than others. I know my whole GI system is highly in tune with my emotions.

As a Paramedic I can back this explanation!  :)
