Hard to say from that pic tbh. Also it is a bad angle and an angle from below is very rarely flattering anyway. Try and get a clear picture with a straight forward angle if you want any kind of feedback worth anything. A lot can be done though you know without the FFS I mentioned. My face has changed a huge amount on HRT and I have made minimal effort to really change my appearance, other than now having thinned out my eyebrows some, since I already had long hair. You won't know till you do it.

A refreshing change without the make up. You have very good skin. I'd still gender you as female without any make up on. The hair carries and frames your face well.

If you still feel the need to apply it, perhaps it might be worth exploring the notion of very light make up in a future photo? ie A very thin layer of powder foundation, a neutral lipstick, the faintest hint of mascara and the tiniest amount of brow pencil to shape them?
Nobody's perfect ...   I'll never try,
But I promise I'm worth it, if you just open up your eyes,
I don't need a second chance, I need a friend,
Someone who's gonna stand by me right there till the end,
If you want the best of my heart, you've just gotta see the good in me.

That's a huge compliment coming from you Leila. Thank you my love :) The reason why I had to post this pic is due to some changes I am noticing on my face ever since my endo increased my dosage 3 weeks ago. I felt like the shape of my eyes changed and the features got a bit more softer. Is that normal??

I agree with your suggestion Leila, the less make up the better. I just use bare minerals for my foundation, some mac blush, mascara and lip balm Bam Im done LOL

Hugs

April

Hi all!
I wanted to try posting some pictures again, this time with me actually trying to look feminine :)
I received very positive responses last time which Im very grateful for. It was a pleasant surprise since I cant help but focus on my flaws.

again, Im pre-everything. I only tied my hair back and used a little mascara

my smile tends to change the shape of my face somewhat, it pulls my cheeks out and my mouth upwards, making my chin appear bigger

I know my eyebrows could use some trimming, and I'd eventually like to get FFS to reduce my brow ridge (since i think thats pretty important gender-wise), but what about the chin? do you think its a problem, or is that more of a vanity thing and less of a gender thing?

any tips I can get are greatly appreciated!
also, what kind of facial changes can you expect from HRT? I dont expect much but Im curious. (ive heard it can clear up acne, is this true?? thatd be a nice bonus)

April, I would have to agree with you.  Your face has changed in the last few weeks.  Softer features all the way around.  You looked feminine before, but somehow this is A LOT more feminine.  Also, I love you with the dark hair.  Somehow, it just fits your face a lot better and is more natural.

Gwen, give HRT at least a year or so before you decide what to do.  I think that you're fortunate that you're starting with a face that's somewhat androgynous.

HRT will probably fill in your cheeks somewhat and soften your lower jaw.  Sometimes, even the biggest male chins seem to disappear from importance once HRT does its thing.  As for your brow bossing, once you get your brows trimmed to "female" norms and have some eye liner, that may indeed not be a problem, either.  Again, I would recommend you wait on HRT and get some "training" in makeup (a makeover at Mac, Sephora, etc.) before you totally make up your mind.

Still jealous of you.  You're starting from a pretty good point, IMHO.

Hey Gwen,

I agree with Marie, wait for at least 2 years to do anything and let hormones do its work. I was initially concerned about my face and now I am quite happy with the subtle changes that are happening. Patience and a lot of self love will be your armour.

You are looking as fab as usual. Don't worry about that chin, I've seen a lot worse in women.

thank you both for the kind responses :)

I hadnt really thought about it but I think you're right, Im probably rushing this too much right now. I guess theres really no need to worry about my face at the moment, Im just anxious and feel so ready to start truly living. As for the FFS, thats just something Im thinking about but not something I could ever actually do until waaay down the line, cause theres no way I could afford that right now  :P but like you said theres no need to even worry about it at this point.

thanks for the advice and providing some clarity  ^-^

Also, April, I love the latest picture, big fan of the natural look!

Oh my gosh, Gwen, you look amazing.

No makeup, no HRT, and already you're practically there.  Good for you!

I don't see your chin as a problem at all.  You have a beautifully feminine smile.  And as for your comment that smiling makes your chin look bigger- I think that happens to all of us.  I mean, have you seen Reese Witherspoon's chin when she smiles?  Girl's chin looks like a dolphin's nose.

If there was anything you could work on, I suppose it would be to try to clear up your complexion as much as possible, maybe with a little help from the dermatologist if necessary. And of course those eyebrows could use a little quality time with a weed whacker, but that's an easy enough fix.

And get on the 'mones, girl! If you look this good now, just wait until those little miracle workers get ahold of you!

Hugs,
Teg

I dont think she needs a dermatologist. E works wonders on the complexion. It has done work on my complexion after 2 weeks. so let hormones work before you see a dermatologist.

This is me, 10 weeks in (HRT), boy-mode. My friend said my face is changed, and I wanted to get a little public opinion. It's been about 6 weeks since I last posted pics and I'm curious how I'm coming along. I'm beginning to see more of myself each time I glance in the mirror.

Thoughts?

My hair, by the way, is tied back; what shows on the sides is the shortest of it.

The last pic is from today. How many more months before male-fail, you think?   ::)

After looking back at your earlier photo wowsers, big change for the better. In answer to your question, looking at these two photos I would expect you to be getting the odd male fale here and there now. You do look female now
