So for the first time I've managed to take a photo of myself that I don't absolutely hate.

I've tidied up my eyebrows and figured out basic makeup, and started doing my hair. 15 months on HRT and I'm beginning to feel a bit more positive about my chances of not just looking like a man in drag. So I'm pretty happy with this, really.

You look gorgeous!

Hi Everyone! So i havent been back in a while, but I wanted to know how I stack up! I think I can get away physique wise, but I'm unhappy about my face :( But I can't quite place it... is it too rounded? the wrinkles? 6 o clock shadow?... hmmm looking for your opinions! :D. Also I feel like i'm almost there, or am I delusional? Please be honest!

Finally if I am as close as I think I am, i'd also love to hear which you like best! I'm looking to update some profile pics  ???

I think you look quite good actually.

However the shadow does seem to be a bit of a problem. Are you doing electro or laser?

Maybe try a new style of glasses?

So looking at some of your older posts I see you've done that.
I do think it's an improvement.

Honest opinions (not meant to sugar coat):

Brow bossing could be an issue but I see your hair is covering nicely.

The "muscle mustache" is there? I'm not 100% sure on that one.

Otherwise with some makeup adjustment I think you're pretty passable.

Your body looks GREAT however. I wish I had one like yours!

Thanks! Yeah I really try and use the comments to set goals for myself (I'm very goal driven).

Would you mind elaborating on some of your comments?

Brow bossing I'm assuming that's the bottom of my forehead sticking out right? Yeah it's not too prominent but my ocd Ness is making me thing of surgery as its a minor procedure to reduce but if I pass I probably won't.

As for laser,  yes I'm planning to,  just figuring out the financials (I fortunately am actually allergic to my body hair! So I'm trying to get insurance to cover it)

Muscle stache?

I worked really hard for the physique I have so it's great to hear those compliments! It's so hard to find workouts that don't build and supplement it with a diet,  but I've managed to do so (and turned into a health nut in the process)  but basically what I did (if you want to try)  is I went vegan gluten free first.  Then I went from yoga to 3 workouts a week doing Barre classes plus one yoga session (with protein shakes,  as these workouts are more on toning than building in want to encourage muscle repair to get the toned athletic look so it offsets my wide shoulders,  and improved fat burn) ,  and if I have the energy I try and squeeze in a run,  but it depends on how fatigued my muscles are.  Then I looked at my sugar intake and dropped that to near 0 (the only sugars I consume now are natural).  Finally with some calorie control Im close to hitting my target Weighr and body fat percent

Let me know if you want more info I'll be glad to share my plan,  research, results and regular blood work to show I am still well nutritioned despite the appearance of a restricted diet (to be honest once you detox all that stuff our of your body you don't miss it)

I'm not so sure it was the muscle mustache I saw. It could have just been the facial hair. But there is an explanation on the virtualffs website.

Brow bossing, yes you are correct.

You have a similar skin tone to me, so I know how easily even a small shadow can give you away.

If I saw you at the grocery store or something I wouldn't ever suspect you were tran but since I know I think it has more to do with the upper lip. With the broader jaw it is a bit long.

With that being said I think you are 100% passable. I had to really study your face to come up with that.

I think you look amazing!

You will be fine I think. You seem to have the confidence and already look androgynous but..but.. Fack I love your style, looks, whichever. You look so unique :D :D!!

Thank you so much I really needed to hear this. I am so happy I practically squealed . I have a fear that my height may make me look more masculine (I am 6'2). I'm actually really curious what I will have to do to feminize my clothing style, while keeping the same general appearance. I may change my style to be more victorian-esque  (One of my biggest dreams is to wear a corset dress in public). I've yet to come out to my parents and I've considered starting my transition before I tell them. I'm not sure how to approach them. Sorry I'm so long winded my emotions are just everywhere, and I'm not really sure how forums work.

karnos I think you will look great! the main thing hrt will do with your face is make your face look softer and younger. there will only be minimal fat redistribution in the face. But that being said you are young and it looks like you have really unique style. I think you have a good shot at passing. just remember that hormones take a while to really work so be patient once you start. I am looking forward to seeing more post from you.

Welcome to Susans!!!

Wow, you look awesome.  As another person already said, you look androgynous and HRT will only push you further to the feminine side.  As an amateur in these parts, I'll say you won't even raise suspicions beyond your height.  I've seen some crazy tall women, though, so I wouldn't even worry about that.

You also are blessed with the flexibility of keeping your style.  You probably won't even constantly need "feminine" clothing to pass.  That's awesome.

And you have a good reason to be happy, because you actually do look very pretty (beautiful hair btw!). Make up looks neat and well-applied to me :).

Ok... here's a big step for me.  I finally shaved, hah.  So here's what I would look like with make-up.  All I can see are my male family members so it's hard for me to be objective and honest.  So, with some HRT, do you think I would still need some FFS?  I would do the FFS eventually (if I even go this route) if the money is there but that's not exactly something I'm counting on.

Where are you from? Like, I am also 6.1 almost 2 (seems to depend on who measures me o.O) but the place depends on how difficult it can be I guess. Either way, if anything people will be surprised by the height but height doesn't means you won't pass. No worries about that too much.

BIB - This is so true. I am a mere shorty at 5'7" compared to some of the others here at Susan's, but over in Hong Kong I stick out like a sore thumb amongst the general local female population. Back in the UK, no one gives a crap with respect to my height as I about average height with respect to the overall female population.

Passing/blending in isn't just about height, but it can get you noticed depending where in the world you are whether if you were cis or trans, male or female. How you deal with being spotted for being too tall or too short afterwards is what matters.

Nobody's perfect ...   I'll never try,
But I promise I'm worth it, if you just open up your eyes,
I don't need a second chance, I need a friend,
Someone who's gonna stand by me right there till the end,
If you want the best of my heart, you've just gotta see the good in me.

Abysha, I'm going to go out a limb here and say probably not.  That's saying, to "pass" as far as the world's eyes, you probably won't need it.  However, after a couple of years of HRT (and after going full time), many of us find ourselves looking in the mirror and saying "Ewww.." at certain features.  You may have that happen to you.

Personally, though, I think that you'll be pleased with the outcome of your round of HRT.

I think you have a very good start, I haven't started HRT quite yet myself but from what i have seen it can do wonders,
i would let the HRT do what it can for a while then take another look at your options, only thing that kinda sticks out imo
is the little bit of shadow around your mouth so i would check on some laser/ electro, i know i have to spend more time,
trying to cover mine up than i do getting the rest of myself ready lol but i have only had 1 laser sitting so far
I have chosen to be happy because it is good for my health
