StrykerXIII

To strive to reach the apex of evolution is folly, for to achieve the pinnacle is to birth a god.

When the Stryker fires, all turn to dust in its wake.

Dangerbird - Neil Young & Crazy Horse

Danger bird, he flies alone
And he rides the wind back to his home
Although his wings have turned to stone

And we used to be so calm
Now I think about you all day long
'Cause you've been with another man
Here you are and here I am.

That's the moment that he cracked long ago in the museum with his friends.

The jailbird takes the raps
And he finds himself spread-eagled on the tracks
But the training that he learned will get him nowhere fast.

And I know we should be free
But freedom's just a prison to me
'Cause I lied to keep it kind
When I left you far behind.

With the rain pounding on his back he recalls the moment that he cracked long ago in the museum with his friends.
And like those memories the rain keeps pounding down, down, down.

And though these wings have turned to stone
I can fly fly fly away.
Watch me fly above the city
Like a shadow on the sky.
Fly, fly, fly.

Home Demo Of A Song I wrote 8 months ago and keep adding to. I rerecorded it with a clean, strummed guitar part, a distorted part, programmed drums and vocals. The vocals marr what is otherwise a well-enough performed track, even if the guitar-only demo was more exciting. I not only could not decide on one vocal delivery, but also could not decide on certain lyrics. There's one part that's either sung from the part of just one guy or one guy and presumably his girlfriend with a few words changed. On one vocal take i didn't feel like doing the falsetto so i changed the words on the fly and on the other take the vocals are too inconsistent. Another verse i mumbled my way through and have yet to do a retake of. Also, the recording doesn't sound too good. It's listenable, but as a result of me not using line-in, the guitar sounds a bit distant at times.  The intro solo works surprisingly well though. The drum part sounds too plodding. Have to change it, but not too much. It's not a happy song. It's no longer about anything though, come to think of it. The original meaning has partially been forgotten and invalidated by recent experiences with people.
