6 weeks after srs, are you supposed to have anxiety or other issues?

Aside from the, sexual appeal and healibg, and infections or psychological but...not once have I read anything about other issues such as:

Do you get anxiety attacks?
Do you still feel lightheaded when walking far places?
Does it hurt when you dilate with the first and second or is it supposed to go in with no pain at all after 1-2 months after surgery.
Is there any other symptoms that is present 1-2 months after surgery?

I mean I'm pretty sure 1 or 2 months after surgery you didnt go dancing and running, hiking, and went happily bat crazy playing sports. How did you feel or how far did you walk? Did you get lightheaded after you walked a far walk? Did your breathing or heart feel normal after exercising?

Hi Jojo,

Have you been to your Doctor for a check up to see if there is an organic reason for the fainting etc?

Post-op depression is common and it is well worth keeping in contact with your therapist to talk through these issues. My psychiatrist was quite clear, she said that she asks her post natal clients to see her 6 weeks or so after giving birth, and the same for her transwomen clients post surgery.

Hi cindy. I'm a bit confused as when I was admitted to the hospital for my uti. They check my healing down there and said things were fine and healing well, no signs of damage or abcess but said I had high white blood count so they made me stay overnight and to also treat my uti.

The next day I went home and rested, haven't taken any hormones since I got back. But the following day after was my gynecologist visit and she checked my healing as well and said everything is fine and finally told me the right dosage of estrogen injection to take without progesterone.

After I started taking my estrogen again (this week being my 2nd now, and 6 weeks post op) I got a bit better but I can't seem to figure out why  I get lightheaded when I walk around in the grocery store, not to a point where I'm about to faint but just a feeling that creeps up about feeling lightheaded and I get scared and end up walking back to the car and sitting or going home then I feel better again.

I am told by a doctor at the hospital that I'm ok then gynecologist who is experienced with trans srs that I'll be better after I start taking my estrogen again.

But I have this sense of anxiety maybe? Or maybe not enough exercise in my legs? I'm seeing my physician soon but I wanted to ask anyone on here if they felt the way I feel when doing activities.

Perhaps it is simply low blood pressure, or actually you are still physically recovering. If you are feeling lightheaded you are probably pushing yourself too much.

For myself I did not feel 100% until 6 months after. In the beginning just getting up in the morning was exhausting. I think dialation was at it's worse about 2 months after surgery and took a lot of determination and and gritted teeth to get through a very long painful journey. It is different for everyone, but that is what it was like for me.

I still have discomfort with dialation after 3 years- but that is partly because I wait 2 weeks in-between.  :)

I felt anxious too - anxious that everything was healing right, anxious that it would heal all beautiful, anxious because some of my stitches separated, anxious cause I could not sit long enough to work full time but had to anyway. More than likely you will be ok. You are doing all the right things, getting things checked out. Give yourself time to heal, 6 weeks is nothing!

Jojo, if you haven't done a full medical and battery of blood tests, consider doing these, just to rule out things like anemia and other easy to treat conditions.

Frankly girl, I think you're doing pretty well.  I've been following a number of Chett girls (my turn comes in July), and you're much in the same place they were after 6 weeks.

Hugs

I apologize. I guess I'm being too paranoid. This is the first surgery I've ever had and these feelings are new to my body. Well I thank you for the insight. I'll perhaps wait until after 3 months and the following days to see how everything works out otherwise, it may be blood related issue.

Dilating hurt until 5-6 week, in my case.

Walking is fine, can do a 6 mile hike after 7 weeks without problems, but I do get tired quicker and leg muscles hurt from all the inactivity. But I am used to walking a lot before surgery. I did 6-7 miles a day before surgery.

Did not experience dizziness or anxiety. Are you also nauseous?

Hmm It's more anxiety I think but whenever I eat at a noisy place or walk around the grocery store, after 20 minutes I start to feel lightheaded then I start to get worried or anxious that I'm about to faint then I rush to my car and I feel better.

I don't get nauseous though. And when the air gets hot, I start to feel like I'm getting anxious or lightheaded but nothing happens. It's like a panic attack but I try to control it then I feel better....it's weird but hard to explain. I feel like it's not serious but when I start to get lightheaded maybe I start to get anxious or worried so much that I get a panic attack?

It does sound a bit like a panic attack - maybe have a chat with your therapist?

Oh and some people get over a general anaesthetic quickly, others take quite a long time, many months in some cases. This is one reason that Brassard uses a epidural block so that his clients don't need such a deep anaesthetic.

I just got confused about who to go to. There's so many doctors for different things but I guess I could pay a visit to my therapist.

I am 7weeks post op tomorrow and as of this moment I dont feel lightheaded anymore and I am back with my regular activities with no issue.

Healing is case to case basis and you should need a follow up checkup with your surgeon. During my first month, I come back to my doctor 5days a week to check if i was healing well and if i ak cleaning myself down there properly. Now my follow up checkup has been down to ones a week because my recovery was doing well.

If you had your surgery overseas, email your surgeon and send some photos of your healing vagina

Anxiety is natural - but also hightened after surgery in some people. This can be a problem if you have never suffered from anxiety or depression before. All the things come along at once and you feel overwhelmed. And  these things can become problematic at any time.

Allow yourself time - give yourself permission to take time for yourself. Because that is important for returning to a healthy balance in your life!
