Post-op Day 7. Today was a big day. Dr. Suporn removed all the vagina packing and catheter. He spread my legs and first added some water to the area. He started pulling out all the packing, which was a lot by the way. It didn't really hurt, just uncomfortable. It wasn't until the end that he was taking out the last piece that hurt. I had to breathe in and out. When he took out the catheter, that did hurt! But it very quick so no biggie. He then asked me to lift my butt and put some sort of pan underneath me. With a syringe, he squirted bottled water 3 times into my vagina to clean the insides. No pain, just a cool feeling. He grabbed the medium size dilator, put lube on it, also he put lube at the entrance of my vagina with his finger. First he fingered me to kind of release tension I guess. Then he started sticking that thing inside me. To be honest, it really wasn't painful, just uncomfortable. He was able to insert the dilator 6 1/2 inches deep. He told me he could guarantee 5 inches so 6 1/2 is great.
He put a blue plastic belt under my bum and up and over my belly to hold the dilator in place. I held it in for about 30 minutes. I had to pull as much as I could bare. Getting to the back of the vagina wall and putting pressure on it feels very uncomfortable. After 30 minutes, I went to the wash room with a clinic nurse and took a shower and washed my vagina. Then I had to use the syringe to clean it out 3 times. The 4th time I had to mix water with some type solution (don't recall the name right now). Then went to bed and two solutions were applied to my vagina. One for the scars and the other for the clitoris and opening of the vagina.
Now I'm here drinking lots and lots of water hoping that I'll be able to pee to avoid getting the catheter put back in. I've drank like 8 bottles so far. They told me it'd be easier to pee once I feel my bladder is completely full. So, we shall see. I'm leaving back to the hotel at 1 pm today and then the nurse will stop by around 3 pm or 4 pm to help with a second session of dilation.
Final thought: I can already tell this will be hard, meaning dilations. It will consume my day and eventually will start hurting more and more as the nerves re-connect. But it's important to dilate. I will think happy thoughts and relax as best as I can. As far as how the vagina looks now, it looks disastrous, lol. But it's only been 7 days. The clinic says don't judge until about 6 months to a year. Either way I am happy and have no regrets with choosing Dr. Suporn.
Til next time.
