First of pre everything really but maybe I am weird in that besides my mental idea of being a woman the only physical thing that drives me the nuts the most at the moment is the cursed body hair (mostly chest).

Yes I know I could live as a male and get rid of it but it feels deeper then just that if that makes any sense. Just wondering if anyone else feels that the hair on the chest is a big deal more then anything else. When I get some hormones maybe other parts I would like to see go but just a thought for the future at the moment.

Eh maybe a little strange never liked being shirtless either guess it is my hang up if ya will. Cant wait for THE call:) Really waiting for it to call it find the truth even though I know its not the totally answer I feel it will guide me to where ever the next path leads. Just the icky chest hair and wondering if I should just wait for spiro to work a little magic before I worry too much about wax/epilation or laser for that matter. Fyi laser on face worken on that already:)

Basically I shaved and it feels so nice for fur to be gone even though it will be back in no time and ya I have back fur too.
For every day that stings better days it brings.

Hair bothers me, Jen. Bothers most women, so you're definitely not alone. I used to epilate it out (ow! ow! ouch!), then I paid for a course of laser treatments which crapped out half way through because the company went bankrupt and kept my money. I shave every week because I can't stand hair there. Been on HRT for two years and no T for a year and a half, and there's still enough prickly hair that I have to keep shaving. For me, it was all worth it. I just hate the stuff.
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

At least for me spiro and estrogen didn't do a significant amount to chest hair even after six months. I shave it regularly. It did help on my lower torso.
April 22, 2015, the day of my first face to face pass in gender neutral clothes and no makeup. It may be months to the next one, but I'm good with that!

Being transgender is just a phase. It hardly ever starts before conception and always ends promptly at death.

Leg hair = yuck!
Arm hair = nasty!
Chest hair, I'd rather smear doggy doo doo on my chest!!
I was very hairy on my chest pre hrt, after one year of epilating and hrt I've only got a handful of stubborn hairs left now

Shaving leaves the follicles intact this is why it doesn't diminish your chest hair, you need a treatment that targets those pesky follicles such as laser, electrolysis, epilation or even waxing.
Epilating does hurt like hell at first but after a few sessions it's barely noticeable, if you're on a tight budget it's the cheapest option as the only cost is the initial outlay for the epilator.
If you buy one make sure it has the highest number of tweezers possible, have a warm bath/shower beforehand to open the pores, then afterwards either have the coldest shower you can tolerate or use an ice pack to close pores and reduce the redness that epilating causes.

I know Jayne, but I've been on HRT since September 2, out of work since October 28, and on a cruise somewhere between those. For the time being a more permanent solution is off the table, but soon, soon!

I know just how it feels to be out of work, I only afforded my epilator due to a redundancy payout and a sale that meant my epilator was half price.
If you have any female friends then ask if they have one gathering dust at the bottom of a drawer, after I bought mine several women said "you should have asked me, I bought one tried it once and never used it again cause it hurt, you could have had it"

yes i hate my torso hair.  its super thick and coarse like my facial hair. I'm praying that HRT will thin it out. I don't really want to spend money on removing my torso hair because its super expensive.

mmmmm

It can take 2+ years after having hormone levels in a female range (not after start of HRT). With spiro it could take a little while before Testosterone levels are lowered effectively. With cyproterone acetate T is lowered much faster, and therefore feminization happens sooner. But in the end, a little sooner or little later, it will work, and a lot of body hair will go away. So unless anyone has a lot extra money to spend on laser hair removal, it is worth to wait and let the hormones do its thing. Whatever that is left after 2 or 3 years, will be that much faster and cheaper to remove. Shaving might be hard at first (due to a lot of hair, mostly thick, and fast growth), but it will get a LOT easier after a while... and if epilator might seem like the most painful and crazy idea at first, it will make a lot more sense after a year and half on hormones, because thinner hair and less hair makes the pain much more tolerable...

Hi Jen,

I am so with you on the body hair.  I can't stand it.  Lately I've been shaving my body every day, it feels so much better.   Although I love to, I don't do most of my legs because short weather is coming and the last time I shaved my legs it took a long time to grow back.

I've tried the epilator in the past, I might go back and try it again.  I really hated the pain, but it did seem easier the more I did it.

Paige :)

A followup. I'm just a bit short of 7 months. Pre-HRT testosterone level was 203. This week I'm running a test, letting all my torso hair grow back. A lot of it is now vellus. HRT is working fast! Of course my chest, right between my new breasts is the last bastion of the little...

It makes me very dysphoric, my father use to tease me when I was younger because he knew I never ever wanted to have body hair. -_- Once it started to come in that was the end of things like taking my shirt off when swimming or anything like that. I can't wait to be rid of body hair... *Flails*

It never really caused me a major issue and I found that being on hormones for 6 months and a couple of wax jobs left me only with vellus hair..

Thanks for the replies:)

The epilator I don't think would be wise it would feel like ripping out trees at the moment hell even if I shave I still have stubble but feel much better. Really just been letting it grow for a time before its time to get the weed whacker out:) Thank you it does give me hope that it will be less of an issue and cloths just feel better with no fur:)

Oddly the idea that I am bald a fair bit never bothered me but I can see that being a problem of course. Funny part about that really is my dad was bald by the time he was 16 so I just accepted my fate now if only I could have accepted being trans earlier all well that's the past just moving forward even if slow at the moment. One reason for not getting to hung up is the way I look at even the most genius type people have dumb tendencies like Einstein couldn't find his way home 2 blocks away. Not dumb just socially stupid:)

Oh yeah!! I hate it!!! Whenever I think that I am progressing..Like when Iam in the shower and see all the regrown stomach and
chest hairs!!arrghh!!!
I've been using my epilady legend weekly..I still get those bumps on my lower tummy..legs ok, above the neck..disaster!!
Until my winning sweepstakes prize is delivered (keep dreaming hon). I am only able to epilate as professional hair removal
is beyond my income means and the nearest is quite a few miles away.

No, but I dislike it.  Thankfully, it's the easiest and most painless area to shave.
