Transitioning to full time at my work, and some other random thoughts

Ok at work (TAB) I'm classified as an agent relief, this means I'm allowed to work by myself. I'm also occasionally classified as an acting agent, this means when my boss goes on holidays I'm the one in charge (same pay twice the responsibility). Now since I've changed my name (and gender ) I've been trying to work out how to keep all my old records current, so if I move venues they follow me. Plus actually come out as trans to head office. This is some of the things I have found out

I think I'm the only trans person in the whole of my company. Every time I've tried to ask what do I do, is this right. I get a uh umm I don't know, have you tried talking to your business manager
We may have trans people in head office. If you are reading this please help me and my boss are playing a lot of this by ear
I learnt quickly when I started working, to despise service support. This has increased 10x, if it is not on the screen they can not help you. (I have spoken to three different people and gotten three different answers)
We have forms for everything. Except the ones I was looking for. The closest we came to is re filling out the form I started with using my old number, and a change of name form that is used when people get married. (Yes I am marrying myself ). We have just made a note on the forms
Changing my name at work so simple. Just had to cross out my old name in the book and write my new name in. (I loved doing that)
Same with my keys
I'm so glad I only work at one venue now instead of the three when I started this journey previously
I'm still the same person who very very occasionally makes major $1500 mistakes. (Think of it as a tax write off, that's the only way you'll sleep)
People who have seen you from day one will see you as before until you tell them. Even then it might take some time
For me new people see me as female and that makes all the 'good boys' worth while from my old regulars
I have days where I try to sign my old name constantly. No matter how much I practiced before knowing this day would come
I love seeing my new name at work
I'm happier at work
I love seeing my new name at work
I don't want to change venues, hide my past and start from scratch now.
Oh have I mentioned how much I love seeing my new name at work

And congrats! You are going great. How about giving the gendercenter a call, I know they used to have toolkits for business to assist in the transition of workers which included what sort of forms etc the company needs to consider.

I will ask them tomorrow hopefully they can help.

I love the people at the gendercenter and they have been great for helping me get the confidence and relisation where I am today.
Sadly when I asked them for help with work (round 2), it was suggested I talk to my boss first then come to them after if it went bad.That was then every other time I can't sing their praises enough.



More thoughts
Still haven't worked out how to get management status on my new name for our office cpu. There are dumb terminals and then there are these things. A rock is smarter then this thing
When it comes to retraining time, while I can enter my name in. Finding what name the program is sent to could be interesting. (A married girlfriend has had this problem a couple of times)

Ye I know those issues.

I think the software people sort of forgot that maybe some employees would be transgender!  I had to go through the change name using the  'I'm getting married' and changed it to other. I then called the Head of HR and blasted her.

Oh I was surprised I could even register my new name in. With my birthday, mobile and street address staying the same I was expecting "No this person already exists"
About the only thing they let me edit on my old name (the one with management access) is my gender, everything else was blocked. I'll call that half a win I think

I knew my transition process went too smoothly with head office. Today Beauracrazy hit me and my boss hard and fast.

We have online training assignments that we must complete, I started the first one before transition. We now have a new mandatory one that needs the first one to be completed, (you can guess where this is going).

When I called head office orgionally, they gave us some or no information and my boss and I relied on guess work. Today new boss in finding my "non existent' training details is informed by me they are under my former surname. Head office have now informed us I have to send in my change of name into them so they can transfer my details across.

This is going to leave me with two weeks to do a months training course that I willl only be able to do at work. Joy happy happy joy joy

I think most of that is covered under name change and gender change legislation. Give gender centre a call.

"This should be a common thing for you people, difference is she didn't get married or divorced just took her mother's name"

Only major MAJOR problem for me. I have to scan the paperwork in, where in the public world do you find a scanner? For Australians I can easily find you a free J.P. this one I don't know?

Take pictures of the docs with your phone. That's how I handled all my name change docs.
