There are two sides to the coin of dysphoria, the second one being happy when people actually get your gender right, be it random strangers or friends. Really happy, like your day can go from meh to awesome in just a few seconds.
Anyone have stories they would like to share that stood out?
For me its everytime I get 'sir' at a cafe/restaurant when a waiter is taking my order. When my friends use my chosen name and male pronouns/idioms (like man, lad, son, etc...xD) I start talking more and more freely and the longer I get addressed correctly, the more me I act in public.
When I was feeling sad and a bit under the weather at a cosplay meetup, a guy told me 'come on, man, Reno will not let things get him down' and patted me on the back. Then I wasn't sad anymore
I present myself as male online, and at one point someone unknowingly poked fun at trans people, which made me pause in playing that game for a while. Then when I got back a day later my friends that only know me through the game asked me what was the matter, and I told them that I am trans but asked to not be treated differently since sometimes knowing changes things. They had no problem with that, and said that I am always their bro. And in fact continued treating me like they always have, a guy that could rely on.
