I think the following video gives some insight into how our brain has been wired by genetics, learning and the society.

Everyone Failed To Ride This Bicycle. The Reason Behind Is Mind-Boggling

http://www.dailyliked.net/backwards-brain-bicycle/

Nowadays I am learning hard to live as a woman, but sometimes I have to shift from the female to male mode, and vice versa. It is not easy at all. It is like riding that special bicycle, but far more easier. I think I am in the middle.

I switch because of people I can't come out to yet, but that's getting really tiresome. In fact most times when I present male I have female clothing below.

But sometimes I just just such a coward. I have gotten much more confident lately though.

That is fantastic... and there in one amazing video lies :-

BOTH

the reason that we can't just "switch" our mental gender to match our bodies (because its infinitely more complex than riding a bike)

AND

the real reason why many dear people will misgender us in the first few months after we do so (because they cant just switch how they interact with us, as that too is infinitely more complex).

What's more for those of us who aren't transitioning or suffering gender dysphoria, this is also applicable to every other major life change that we are facing and struggling with. Thats awesome thank you so much for sharing

An oldie but a goodie.

Watching the video confirmed what I thought from the subject. I saw this "trick" several years ago on some show about the brain. Actually a lot more dumbed down if I recall, just cris-crossing your arms. Sort of like backing up a trailer or working a tiller on your sailboat. Takes a LOT of getting used to.

For several years I was able to live part time as female. For me the shift from male to female was relatively easy in that by that time I had made a lot of emotional adjustments to how I saw and thought of myself. Nevertheless, when the weekend came to an end and the nail polish HAD to go, that was when the waves of depression and tears came. The one semi-permanent physical realization simply had to go, and I didn't want it to.

These days the era of part-time living has come to a temporary halt and life is back to a mostly male presentation existence. Also it seems coming to a halt is mostly seeing a fairly good looking old bat in the mirror. Some sad old man seems to be taking over :(

This is a more detailed version:

Certainly children are more flexible in switching and learning.
And, we never forget completely what we have learned.

I agree. And going back to the regular bike is so darned hard once you've been on the reverse bike.

Going back to guy mode for me is hard which is why I kind of stay in between sometimes. It's like right hand and left hand drive on cars. When I first got here I was turning on the wipers when I wanted to use my turn signals. Now I do it effortlessly.
