Mandatory Stopping of HRT for 4 months

Hi Everyone,
So i am really afraid on so many levels here. I am coming up on my one year anniversary of HRT and I love the way my transition is going. I absolutely love it. But I also love my Mother who is in Dire need of a Liver transplant. So I have volunteered to give half my liver to my mother. This will literally save her life. now one of the requirements for donating a liver is being off all HRT related drugs one month before and three months after the transplant. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience of going off HRT for a few months and then resuming. What am i in store for progress wise. Will i lose progress will I mentally be ok? I need others opinions and experiences on this. Thank You for any thoughts.

Not trying to be a downer girl, but I was off for 4 weeks at one point. It drove me literally nuts. After the third week I got really nervous, ultra moody, aggressive everything I was before. Basically I seemed like I had Mad Cow disease. It was living hell with hot flashes, change in taste, etc. I hope it was just my experience and yours will be better. It was no picnic for me. I am really scared of the stop time now before SRS.

I can see and understand going off one month prior, but could you go on injectable E only for the 3 months after since injectable E doesn't really pass though the liver? Spiro is hard on the liver so I can see you needing to stop that for a while. I would talk to the doctors and see if that is an option. Estrogen alone can be used to lower T, it's just not as fast or effective, but it's better than going backwards in your progress.

They are worried about the clotting factor Sydney. Especially with liver surgery.

IM estrogen only avoids 1 pass through the liver, after it hits the bloodstream it will circulate until it binds. Also, a liver donation like this can really mess with things and the less variables for the doctors, the easier it is to spot any complications.

Hate to say that they are corect but it is going to be hard.  Howrver, you understand why you are doing it.  It is possible.  I was off E for 11 weeks.  It was important, it was hard but I made it.  No lasting effects, just a slow down in the process. Took about 8 weeks to get back to where I was.  Then I just kept going.

You are giving something out of love.  That same love will carry you through.

You are doing two amazing things.  First you are giving half of your liver to your mother.   
On top of that you are sacrificing a month of hormones to do this.  If there is any group that would appreciate the sacrifice it's the girls here. 
Just wow. 
You are an amazing person Jennifer and I wish there were more people like you out there. 

As far as how going off the hormones will be, Jen nailed it.  You are doing this for love and that same love is why it won't be so bad.
