I'd like to echo the sentiments of the previous posters. As I'm off to Bangkok in less than 2 months I'm following events closely but I would like to add as a bit of reassurance for them due to go over there that neither Chett or Suporns clinics are anywhere the sites of the explosions and neither are the hotels they use. I cannot be certain for the other surgeons but i am sure they can offer advice for those who may be concerned.

Hope all are safe and not distressed.

Hugs

I hope everyone is well too. I understand that there have been a few deaths but that there are significantly more non fatal injuries than fatalities.

However, with that a given, I could have never given up a date for GRS. I know this wouldn't have phased me in the least.

The bomb was like one mile from my place, so scary. 20 death and 100 injured and the scene was terrible. It' something like Boston Marathon. And there is another bomb at river pier yesterday where are alot of tourist use this pir to cross the river, but the bomb miss and fell into water. And the police still don't know who did it, why they did it, and will it do again? So we are pretty much scare to go around especially where there are a lot of people and tourists.

Seem like the attack aim for tourist crowded area. For one who travel for surgery, I think you guys should be fine as you will spend most of your time in hospital and hotel. Just avoid the crowded area and attraction.

Me myself, I have to cancel all activities that have to go to crowded places. And really uncomfortable to go around. At least until they get the guy to did it.

At the risk of sounding callous... As a result of of the violence, the baht has hit a ten year low. If you're going to pay for surgery (or buy baht to use in future), now's the time...

I live in Bangkok and there definitly tension as it was in the city centre and next door to my favorite malls namely Central Worls and Siam Paragon. Plus, I live within 5 minutes walk away. I was having dinnerat the Pink Lady when it happened and the unknown caused quite a bit of panic and took me 2 hours to get to my apartment due to the traffic chaos caused. I have decided to just be more careful and I did stop going to busy places for the first couple of nights after. But then again in todays world, with all the muslim extremist, all big cities are targets for terrorism. And the military government do not have their hands bound like many so call democratic governments, they will find out who. I will not let this deter me from enjoying what I do but will exercise more caution. FYI the malls even before the bombs had metal dectectors and bag searches so they are quite safe.
When we first start our journey the perception and moral values all dramatically change in wonderment. As we evolve further it all becomes normal again but the journey has changed us forever.

I was in both them malls in April and had my handbag (purse for American folks) searched by a security guard :) I am sure the bombers whoever they were wanted to create maximum fear and panic. Well done for carrying on and not letting them win. Take sensible precautions though just in case it happens again

The world is becoming a scary place. I think it will all be fine. They usually never do series of bomb attacks. It is more of a psychological game to spread fear than to kill people. This really is insane and must end

Keep safe people. So glad you are safe Warlockmaker.

The Bangkok people are lovely welcoming people, I'm so sad so many were hurt.

As Possessed said or implied, never let these idiot terrorists get you down. They just hate.
