Currently I am cleaning, sometimes I serve in a tennisclub.

i'm contemplating to study chemistry or possibly find a job as process operator.

As much as i'd love to find some government job... My cards weren't dealt for it in life hehe.

So what do you do !?

You can also include cool jobs you did once  :-*

Nicest one was a volunteer job for camps for really young children with issues. Sometimes when I think back to some children I cry, it's astonishing how cute little people can be, despite some difficulties.

Electronic assembly, mostly military avionics. Mazda says zoom zoom, Devlyn says boom boom!  >:-)

Sigyn

I have been in the past:

Fast Food Cook
Computer assembler
Hard Drive Torture Tester
Computer Retailer shop owner
Stockbroker
Compliance officer for a Securities firm
FM Radio Engineer
Call Center Employee
CISCO CCNA
Farm Machinery Operator
Post-Harvest fruit inspector
FedEx truck loader
Small Claims Legal Advisor
Law Clerk for a Judge
Solo Practitioner Attorney
Legal Aid Attorney
Counselor to other Attorneys

I've been somewhat lucky in the past in that I could get a job just by walking in and saying "I want to work here."
I haven't been able to do that for almost 20 years.

It always amazes me what a spectrum of people are in this little boat.

@Swayallday.  If you have the inclination, chemistry is a very versatile degree.  Of course, I am biased, because I am a chemist, and I work for the government, lol!  I work for the Navy, formerly for the Naval Research Laboratory, and now a Naval Surface Warfare Center, by way of Afghanistan (looking at you, Devlyn Marie, lol). Chemistry, physics, mathematics, biochemistry, and virtually any engineering degree are good investments.

@Sigyn.  Wow, I am impressed.  A background in electronics and law.  You should be ruling the world by now!

@Metanoia. I can see where your screen name comes from.  Is your spiritual conversion related to your ->-bleeped-<-, or the other way around?  That's a serious question. I would love to know.

With kindness,

Terri

LOL :laugh:

Hehe Sigyn you know what's up. Nice to see you've landed somewhere comfortably.

Cool Meta :). I like farmwork :P.

& yeah those days are over, i've tried all companies in and around my area.

On the subject of Chemistry, i've taught myself mostly, kinda read Vogels handbook for fun. Now I just challenge myself on Bluelight in some experimental discussion revolving possible pathways & pharmacology of chemicals yet to be known. It's sufficient.
I'd prefer to go into research but...
-Negative results are not noted.
-How many excerpts i've read where the researchers did not say anything about the raw data.
-If you don't pay, you don't publish. That's so backwards that it weeds out the majority of "genuine" people.
-Three publishing companies (Reed Elsevier, Wiley-Blackwell, and Springer) account for 42 percent of all published articles. This oligopoly has obscenely high profit margins of 30 to 40 percent. That's higher than most of the biggest companies in the world except Pfizer.
-You can't share your work without losing it. When scientists can't get papers from their peers, they have to rely on subscriptions owned by their employer.
Predatory publishers are corrupting open access...

So it's sorta like "I want to cure illnesses but i'll end up in a soapfactory"

Getting a grant a la Shulgin, those days are long past too but with the recent uproar of MAPS it certainly is motivating.

Maybe if I win the lottery someday ::)

never had a decent job. cook, dishwasher, gas station attendant, modeled for an art class, liquor store clerk, stocker for a grocery store, rock breaker for a rock specimen supply company, waiter, clothing salesman, encyclopedia sales man, road crew for the city of Santa Fe N.m., nursing home worker, care giver, fast food clerk and bus boy/girl . I'm retired working on a mathematical solution to unify all the Universal fundamental constants and using prime numbers for the quantification of gravity and an extension of the Schrodinger Equation for the application of a more refined approach to the understanding of the way atomic orbits follow paths defined  by laws governed by prime numbers. Hopefully the paper will be completed by the time my I pass from my present state of being to the next.

Well, it's basically because of my theological education that I'm aware of my Trans* status... The constant 'Who are you, really?' probing that all seminarians go through... When I reached into the core of my being... It wasn't a male answering those questions... And I've had my own Metanoia figuring myself out for the last year or two, and it ultimately comes down to a tremendous change of looking at myself and the world through a Transwoman's eyes...

Not out yet, so... the outward Metanoia will happen eventually...

That is bizarre.  PhDs in analytical and inorganic chemistry for me. I do research for a science based let's make 68000 products company.  Literally, 68000 products.  And I know most of them.

Last time I had any interaction with the Navy folks was around 2000-2001.

Now I work more with degradation, metabolism, endocrine disruption and toxicity.

To move forward is to leave behind that which has become dear. It is a call into the wild, into becoming someone currently unknown to us. For most, it is a call too frightening and too challenging to heed. For some, it is a call to be more than we were capable of being, both now and in the future.

Never had a job yet, unfortunately. Nobody responds to my applications  >:(
Other than that, self-applied "jobs" and things done for a living would be YouTube videos, and story writing! (Maybe the occasional courier service for a friend's snack run - I upsell steeply. 12 donuts for 3 bucks? Give me a dollar and you have yourself a donut ehe  >:-) )

Jobs done so far:

- High school teacher for senior grades - the title of subject was "Basics of Law" and yeah I was 2nd grade student at Faculty of Law then...
- Clerk/Assistant for Lecturer in the University, Faculty of Law;
- Assistant for Professor in international project hosted by Faculty of Law;
- Senior Inspector in the Register of Ships (mostly dealing with cases arising of maritime/shipping law);
- lawyer in the Governmental office dealing with human rights complaints;
- deputy head of the office - still dealing with human rights complaints :).

I'm still under education.
I'm nearly done with my AP in Commerce Management & E-Commerce, next month I'll start with my AP in Multimedia Design and Communication.

As a part of my first AP I worked with a broad variety of e-commerce for 8 months in a smaller company.
I worked as a sermon singer for 12 years ( :o ) but singing as a tenor is ruining my everyday voice. Maybe I'll return when/if I can beautifully sing as an alto, not that a beautiful voice seems to be required for that haha.

Dream job would be to be able to live off my own company RosenRed, where I sell high quality handmade (by me) jewellery. But that dream is put on hold for a bit while I start my new education.

I'm currently working as a food processing engineer a.k.a. I work at a McDonald's. My job is so boring and way below my skill level. But cause of the language barrier, my Dutch still isn't good enough for a better job. Now if I could just get myself to study more, which is also so boring.
If I've known you more than an hour, I prolly love you  :icon_redface:
