First I want to thank everyone who has shared their experiences and knowledge with me on previous questions.

Now for my latest questions:  Has anyone attended a TG convention?  Was it a good experience?  Would you recommend attendance?

I have seen calendar events planned for 2006 that look interesting.  Outside of Susans, I have no support network at the moment.

I have been to the Chicago Be-all and I had a good time.  There were almost 400 Ts in the hotel and the other guests must've wondered what they'd walked into--not often Ts represent any kind of majority.  Lot's of information and time to meet like-minded people.

Leah and I attened one in Denver, Colorado in march of 2001. It was called Gold Rush. We found it to be very informative. About 500 to 600 TS's from acrosss the comunity spectrum were in attendence. We can relate to the comment about those in the hotel being in the minority that weekend and were definitly watching and gaucking. The entertainment was good too. They had a dinner and dance and runway modeling contest for those brave enough to enter and a talent show. The lectures and speaker were wonderfully full of great question and answers time as well. The topics covered the wide spectrum of the TS community too. DR's and Therapists and even a SO for many years. I think one of the best parts was the "Vender Mall". They had all the hard to find items such as large size shoes, largesize wigs, breast forms, large-size clothing for the tall, accessories shopping for belts, scarves, purses ect., also under garmets corsets, sinches, briefs with hip padding pockets and the pads, bras in large sizes too. For the most part it was a positive experience. We did meet some we stil are in contact from time to time with.

Hi Molly,
I attended one in 2000 in the Pacific Northwest in Port Angelas, WA. For the life of me I can not think of the name right now. I will think of it later, probably when I'm in bed or something. There were about 120 in attendance and they had some very good speakers. It was one of my moments of truth. I'm sure where ever you live you can find one around. I have heard of them all over the country, except So. Ca.

It sounds like those who have gone to a TG convention have had positive experiences.  That's good to hear.  I was reading about an annual event in Las Vegas that is a little different.  No speakers, workshops, etc.  Basically it is a get away for girls  Anyone can participate as much or little as possible.  Mostly planned events like dinner, shows, shopping, etc.  I forget the name of it right now, but it looks like it has been going for about six or seven years.  It sounds like fun, has anyone been to this one?
