Hi girls:
While some of you still remember me, most are probably saying "Who is this lady." Well, I started posting in March or April of 2012 under the name Kathy Bottoms, and in early 2013 I closed my account only to rejoin the forum later that summer as KathyK. OK, OK ... TMI.
I'm waiting for Surgery with Dr. Meltzer on Sept 24, in Arizona. It wasn't easy getting to where I am, because I was very close to suicide several times, and had complete mental breakdowns more often than admitted. But even though my family abandoned me, friends disappeared, and almost everything from a 37 year marriage is gone, I can still say "I made it." I've been staying with my girlfriend, but rented a house where I can enjoy the crumbs of life that are left for me in California. Yes, everything I held dear is gone. But again, I made it, and I'm alive.
And now I'm leaving again, and most likely will never return. Not because the forum hasn't been good for me, but because my life has changed. So thank you Devlyn, Lord Kat, Sephirah, VM, Cindy, and a whole lot more I can't remember. And I shouldn't forget Susan herself. She started this forum to help us, and even if we don't see a lot of change at once, the forum does change the way we feel about ourselves.
A few years ago a gay cousin of mine said, "Love, and the gentle touch of an angel will keep us safe." I guess he was right, especially since a little love seems to carry us a long way. So look to your future, don't dwell on the past, hang onto what's good, and discard what's bad. You will get past the roadblocks, the trials of fire, and most of all ... the pain.
