Anyone else develop Caffeine sensitivity on HRT?

Noticed it yesterday after yoga when having a second cup with my instructor.  She makes it strong and after about half the second cup, I could feel the effect starting.  Been there enough times to recognize what it was.  Feel phenomenal this AM after one cup of my lighter brew.

I haven't noticed that but I have noticed a marked decrease in alcohol tolerance.

I read once in an article that Estrogen Dominance will hamper your ability to breakdown caffeine. Prior to HRT, I would drink coffee at night after dinner. However, I noticed after HRT that I am having a hard time sleeping at night and now I know why :)

So take it easy on the java xo

I take an adhd medication which is essentially a very strong stimulant. By the end of the first week I noticed it felt like I was on a way stronger dose (basically feels like I've drank too much coffee).

Last time I saw my doctor I had him lower my dosage. I haven't tried the lower dose yet though, the damn pills are $7 each so I have to use up what I have first!

I think  I'm backwards I drink a lot of coffee and it never effected the ability to sleep . The HRT seems to make the coffee  act as a sleep enhancer.

ive never been able to drink coffee and if i did, i wouldnt be able to sleep  even with a little quantity so i cant tell if there is difference.

However i noticed a change with alcohol . it doesnt really require much anymore to reach the "feeling" effect.

I found my coffee tolerance greatly reduced. I have a cup in the morning and about half the time a second cup in the afternoon. Prior to HRT I would drink it all day.

I've never been a heavy enough drinker to know now if that's changed.

Food preferences and portion sizes have altered as well.

I haven't noticed the coffee so much (we are all dedicated coffee drinkers here in Australia with some of the best coffee makers in the world), but I have noticed a remarkably different change in my ability to drink alcohol. I could easily drink beer (Now I don't touch the stuff) and used to like Gin and tonic or vodka and coke.  I also love my wine, with my favourites Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay or Shiraz, but whereas before I could drink 3 or 4 glasses, since I have ben on HRT (now 2 years plus), I can manage two glasses only before its time NOT to drive home, as the alcohol definitely affects me more.

And that's funny, isn't it, after years of being told that women's lower tolerance for alcohol is due to lower body mass? Sadly, my body mass hasn't lowered significantly at all.

Oh yeah, definite...have to cut the caffeine.  Thanks everyone for sharing.  Seems it is a hit or miss phenomenon.

I had zero shift in tolerance. In fact, I probably drink even more now than I did pre HRT. Didn't affect my drinking alcohol either.

Oh, I definitely have to limit both my coffee and alcohol intake now. Only one cup gives me the jitters, alters my moods, and it's not good for your skin either so I stopped. And prior to HRT I partied and could deal with alcohol overconsumption just fine but now only one beer gives me a headache, even with food. So no more coffee or alcohol for me.
