Hello, I am Stephanie
50 yr old newly proud Trans-woman.
Out 3/15...Hormones & FT 7/15
Born Buffalo NY, lived up and down east coast..now live in western PA
Wife.. very very not happy at first.. working things out..future looks good
3 older Kids.. very accepting
my life story if very standard issue..
felt different around 7.. next 43 slowly got more and more confused, and ashamed..
beginning of this year.. basicly hit rock bottom and found myself at a crossroad..
found a great therapist..started hormones ( freaking awesome.. best things ever )..
told the world this is who I am ( like it or not) ....and here I am...

I have no regrets of my past.. it makes up who I am now

even tho I am over 6'.. huge feet.. and I currently only
pass probably 50% at best ( being older and wrinkly helps I think ) ..
live and work in a conservative rural setting with no support.. I consider
myself very lucky..

most people have been nice (at least in front of me ) .. some are actually very kind..some. not so kind.

I think having a positive attitude, confidence ( at least on the surface ),
and being nice to others goes a long way in making them  comfortable..

well.. that's a little about who I am..
I have been lurking here for about a year, and  there are some
truly helpful and caring people on this forum.. I would be
proud to be part of this family..

Thank you for your time..
Stephanie

P.S... Full disclosure..I know my writing is little crude..I kinda have autism with
some social anxiety mixed in.. If I worry how the words come out..It will never happen..
and being a mechanic or related all theses years have not exactly honed my communication
skills.. ( all these years on the internet and I have never actually interacted before.
( my therapist wants me to start.. darn her :-)... ))
new beginning 5/15...
HRT 7/15...

There are a several other on the site who have some form of autism so you are not alone and are in good company. We don't require that you post so join in the threads you are comfortable with and leave the rest alone. I am going to post a copy of the rules because I don't think you have received them yet. Hi Stephanie ,

A big Aussie welcome to Susan's family. It's good of you to drop in and say "Hi". Hope you like it here, and you stay for a while.

There is a mountain of information, resources and friendship waiting for you here, you just need to jump in start talking and ask any question you like. You're quite safe here and we are very accepting.

No need to worry how you communicate (semaphore will do) providing you do communicate. Geez, I even speak and write 'strine' (Australian) and I don't even understand what I say, let alone anyone else.  ;D ;D. You're doing well and streets ahead of me.

Looking forward to hearing more of your story in time to come, but in the meantime, be safe, well and happy.

Lotsa huggs
Catherine
