I was a good girl for over 20 years and then I kind of forgot to dilate for about 10 years. When I resumed, I was hitting the high notes without VFS and it was tight but I am back to about 5.5 inches depth and back to normal diameter. This matches well with my post surgical numbers. What is important is to get through the initial dilation while you are still healing. Once you are through that retaining size isn't as difficult.

Yes I did lose some depth but I've been celibate and I don't think that will ever change. I've never kept track of the dimensions of the invagination...but its there.

FOR THOSE CONTEMPLATING THIS PARTICULAR TECHNIQUE. -  BE WARNED

The outcome described above, may not be the same outcome you achieve.

Particular warning to those who suffer any skin ailment such as eczema, psoriasis, Lichen Planus or other such autoimmune responses. Vaginal stenosis is easy to contract and bloody difficult to remediate. Should you notice any deviance to your original dimensions the solution is simple. Dilate, dilate, dilate.

Speak to you as soon as I finish .......ing.

Lyndsey, although the advice is to dilate forever, it's also possible for some women to stop... especially once they're decades post-op.

Personally, my surgeon recommends once a week for life, and I'm down to doing it once every 2-3 weeks because, to be honest, I forgot a couple of times and then realized that I'd noticed no difference in tightness or depth after missing a week. (I'm 3.5 years post-op, give or take.) So I would not do anything to risk my vagina either, but I'm confident that every other week is safe for me. :) By 20 or 30 years post, I would not be surprised if I was dilating much less frequently even than that - there are a couple post-ops on here who've made it that long and one reported that she forgot where she left her dilators for years!

I got a mr orange from soul source today, xmas present from a wonderful friend. Such a nicely packaged and quality looking dilator. Also had my 6 month checkup and have been given some steroids by surgeon. I've heard of people using estrogen creams but not steroids, I get the idea it makes the skin softer and thinner.

Anyway that's my dilating news. Keep on keeping on
I will touch a 100 flowers and not pick one.

My surgeon advised me to steadily decrease to find the level I need to drop to. I am only 3 month post, so that's still 2 or 3 times a day. I am hoping it will get down to once a month.

WOW!!! Never thought of that, Lyndsey. I'll have to make a modification to the cask to accommodate them. Do you think I should pack my inflatable ones too?

Aaah dear. Yes, the infamous Mr. Orange. He can end up giving you a split personality. I've only just got back to introducing him to daily routine. Soooo nice to have him back.

Speak to you as soon as I feed the goats.

Oh My Catherine

I do not have that BIG one and it scares me to death. I not sure if I should order one or not.  My boy friend is not that big.I don't want him to fall out. All his growing power went into his feet. Size 14 guys. LOL! I'm only 5'-3" tall and 140lbs. and he is 6'-3" tall and 215lbs. He almost crushes me as it is. He picks me up and carries me around like a toy.

I had to go up to that orange one by about 3 months post-op! I was terrified, but it actually went OK; I needed the warm-up with a smaller dilator first for a few more weeks, but only the first day or so was tough.

(My wife informs me that in the before times, I was bigger around than that. Now I know why *she* always wanted a minute or so to adjust...!)

I remember early on, when I was on like finger size ones and they were very difficult, and I'd look at the 1.5 inch wide one and just think, that's never going to happen but after 3-4 months I think most people probably can.

I tried Mr orange last night, I've been on a 1.5 inch wide one for about 4 months now, but mine was straight and more tapered. Mr Orange being curved, having a flatter head and even getting used to the dots and the weight is going to take some adjustment time.

I still dilate twice a day sometimes (I'm at 7 months), but it's xmas eve and I love just being able to say, not going to dilate this morning.

I was joking to my bf I should have done an unboxing video.
I will touch a 100 flowers and not pick one.

I am 5 yrs post op and for various reasons had to stop dilating for 7 months. I started up again last week and although it was a bit tight I have lost no depth. The key as I was told is to follow the first 3 months instructions to the letter and it will pay dividends in the long run. Otherwise I have natural dilation :-) and use the stents every month or so.

You are absolutely right. The first 3 months are imperatively  pivotal to your future success

My surgeon damn near demanded 5 dilation per day for the first 6 weeks. I had the respect for her to give her 6 a day for the first 3 months. I'm sooooo greatful I did. (You're only licences to complain about dilation if you have done more than that  :D )

Lichen Planus (a form of Psoriasis) causing vaginal stenosis has thrown a spanner in the works, yet without the previous efforts from the orange one, I wouldn't be as advanced in the fight to regain it all, as I am today.

Take care of yourselves.

Speak to you as soon as I finish .....ing.    (Yes I know it's a repeat, but it's worth repeating :D)
