Exercise and tightness

Hello everyone,

I'm long term post op and ever since I started going to the gym religiously, I feel like my vaginal muscles have gotten extremely tight. Too tight. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi Bella,

I assume you are refering to the PC muscle. The sling muscle that keeps your lower intestine, bladder and other organs in place.

That being the case, depending on the type of exercise you are doing at the gym may have a direct bearing on thightening that muscle, and subsequent restriction of your vagina.

Without knowing a great deal more of your actual situation, you may find relief by returning to a more regular dilation routine. This would specifically target the muscles and tendons closely associated to vaginal area.

I noticed I am tighter after aerobic workouts now than in the morning. Consequently, this is why I've kept my smallest dilator in my dilation schedule, to sort of break the ice and get things relaxing and opening up again. This has worked for me but I have no idea if it would work for others.

Oh wow I've never heard of or experienced this before. I'm a total gym rat (I go 5-6 days a week) mostly doing cardio and some minor weight lifting / toning.

The only tightening I experience in my dilating is if I skip a week.....I dilate weekly but if I get lazy and go 2 weeks it definitely feels tighter.
