I had an e-mail from my friend who is having surgery tomorrow with Dr Belinga.

This is some of what she said.

" The taxi arrived at the accommodation as agreed and the hospital is about 15 minutes away. I was really impressed with the set up. The hospital has to be seen to be believed.

I met my coordinator Laura and her identical twin sister who looked after me with the tests etc. I had chest x-ray, multipoint ECG and blood test. Their nurse even sorted out my heparin injection.

I then chatted to Dr Belinga who went through the butchery details and I am all set for tomorrow.

When the taxi dropped me off, I went to the Lidl supermarket which is about 5 minutes walk from the apartment.

The weather is to die for. I will get the sun into the apartment in the afternoon.

The apartment is quite compact but has all that is necessary. There is a very small safe.

No problems getting into internet after I found the instructions.

The lady who looks after the apartment is really nice. She even left some milk in the fridge.

Schedule

Today chill out as much as possible. 7.00 pm dinner and early bed.

9.00 am being picked up by taxi from out front and taken to hospital.

Surgery mid morning and being released mid afternoon Wednesday.

I feel that FT really do understand the 'care' thing. Let us see what tomorrow brings!"

Morning everyone,

Just seen post-op fotos of my friend and she has the cooling mask on.

She looks like Darth Vader ... LOL   ;D

I said that she looked much improved ... He He ...  ;)

Nearly packed my end and just 24 hours to go before I fly to Malaga and chill for a few days before being beaten up once again ...  :o

Well the day has arrived and in a few hours time, I will be at London Gatwick airport.

One or two more items to pack and I am off to bed.

Just want to get there now, chill by the pool and get this all over with.

It's been 12 years now since my original FFS which is rather a long time.

Still onwards and upwards ... ;D

I will endeavour to keep in touch before and after surgery.
'
I am in hospital for two nights until April 8th and then I am off to 'Jenny's Nest' for seven days which I am so looking forward to and then home.

She has a full house so it will be a laugh a minute, I am sure.

It will also be good to meet and make new friends.

Take care everyone and thanks for all your support.

Hugs

Paula

Hi everyone,

Arrived safely, enjoying good food and sun.

Simply chilling to Tuesday when the pre-op fun and games begin.

Then Wednesday it's surgery time and FFS for the first time !!!

i.e Reconstruction

This is a huge deal for me and despite many operations down the years, this is the most important one of them all.

Have a good week everyone.

Hi Shoko,

Thank you so much for your good wishes on my surgery last week.

All that I can say is that all the shoddy work that has been done by the previous two surgeons has been put right at long last and I have never been happier.

Facial Team are world class and I will tell you all about what they had to do when I get back to the UK at the weekend.

Jenny and Nicola of 'Jenny's Nest' have been wonderful and I have made new friends from the UK, the USA, Turkey, Australia and Germany.

This has been the best and easiest surgical experience in all my life and there have been over 17 of them, so this says it all.

HC Hospital is wonderful too.

Have FUN everyone.

Hugs and love to you all

Paula  xx

P.S.  My piggy and too small for my face nose has gone, the stupid fat in the top lip has been removed and the new upper lip lift is amazing.

Also my poor alarplasty from 2004 has been redone which looks awesome as well as now having at long last a properly reconstructed and feminised forehead.

Thanks honey ....  :)

Back later as I need to eat some more food.

I have eaten like a pig for 15 days and not put on one single pound, so my body needed it to heal.

Thanks Jessie Ann ...  :)

Forgive me but this being my first day back home, I am feeling really tired so will gradually post my whole Facial Team experience ( almost day by day - there are 15 days of them ) over the following days.

I need to get to bed now and rest otherwise all the good work that they have done will be wasted and undone.

I gather that I have the honour of being their oldest patient so far which I kind of find funny cos I don't look anywhere near as old as my actual age ( 71 in July ) but my body has been running since 1945.

So good night everyone and thanks for your interest and support.

Hugs

Hi everyone,

Forgive me for not posting yet but I am still feeling very tired from my surgery almost two weeks ago now.

Gee time seems to fly by.

I will endeavour to post something later today or in the morning.

Have a great day.
