My therapist gave me a homework assignment last week to read the book "She's Not There" by Jenny Boylan.

I was in tears in spots.  I laughed in spots.  I was enlightened in spots.  The first third of the book talked about the thoughts and feelings trapped inside starting at a very young age all the way to being married with two children.

I'm glad I read it.  She put into words some of the thoughts I had growing up and helped me to better understand myself and the feelings I've had.  If you are looking for something to help enlighten others as to what it's like, this may be an option.

My sister read it at the same time and sent me a text that read "OMG, I'm sorry, I never knew the pain you were in. I'm sorry"  In my opinion, it's that powerful of a book.

P.S.  Jenny, if you ever visit this site - Thank you.

I loved the book. She's quite remarkable and so active in this issue. The book helped me a lot. I'm about to tell my wife and I think I should give her a copy.

I to loved this book. I've read several books by transgender authors and though I don't have the marriage issue to deal with, this is the book I felt I most identified with. I highly recommend this book to anyone that is TG or is just trying to understand us.

Jenny is a marvelous writer and is probably one of the few people who can match wits with Mara Kiesling.
