I finally got the news: the fifth of May will be my last appointment with my shrink before I can start hormones! <3 YATTA!

I also (finally) got my referral for starting laser hair removal, which I've attended two days ago. The pain is definitely real, but I can already see relatively big patches of facial hair disappearing. 2017 is looking to be awesome!

Galyo - that's awesome.  The pain on laser decreases with each session so consider that the hardest part is all done.

I'm still doing the proverbial back flips and cartwheels over starting. So now it's time to let the patients reign and enjoy the outcome with out the high expectations.

Today I had several great things...

An old friend from high school was in town and we had dinner and drinks at one of my local hangouts.  The owner of said hangout, a close friend, commented on how skinny I was (despite how pudgy I was feeling today).  Then after dinner I visited a neighboring bar owned by some other friends and my friend there told me he could hear that my voice was sounding better.  Note that he is aware of my surgery and the comment was in regards to the surgery.  This made me so happy.

Congratulations.  Lack of fanfare is definitely a downer to go with the euphoria. Sorry you had to experience that too.  I hope you have as positive an experience as a lot of us are having.

I went to the Saturday meeting of the Minnesota Transgender Alliance and talked with the woman I had recognized at a previous meeting but couldn't place. It turns out we had been in the same social circle 20 years ago. It was great getting caught up.

I played in a scrimmage for the first time since before I left for Seoul. It feels good to have skates back on my feet.

For what its worth I went into my first therapy session wearing a suit. . . that was 17 years ago.  Been out full-time for 12 years. A good therapist will listen to you and likely be unconcerned with what you're wearing at the moment . . .
