Today the State of Texas cashed the check I sent them for amending the sex designation on my birth certificate.  My TX birth certificate was the last piece of outstanding documentation I had, and once I receive the amended certificate, It'll signal the official "end" of my transition and official beginning of my new life.  I'm really, really, really excited!

That is great news Angie!  Along the same lines, I have received my NC-230 this afternoon and was able to get a copy to HR.  I heard back within 10 minutes that they had received it and had changed my HR/Payroll information.  15 minutes after that, they had interfaced with IT to start setting up my accounts!  OMG, that was FAST!  Happy happy!

Kaitylynn and Angie, great stories! It kind of makes my day just hearing of you reaching these goals! So what is next on your really neat to get done list? - Anne

For me, it is now a matter of getting everything changed over to my new identity and once that is done...continued body hair reduction!  I need to get back and finish up the overall body laser treatments.  I am also starting to plan FFS and VFS.  FFS for sure, on the fence about the later still.

I got an email from my older brother.  He remembered that, as executor of our mother's estate, he has a lot of her jewelery.  Since at the time of her death there were no female family members (that anyone knew of ;) ), he just locked them away to be dealt with later.

So now, when I mentioned getting my ears pierced, he remembered about them and is going to send them to me.  :)  Wow.  She had excellent taste.  One art deco brooch in particular I remember her wearing when I was about 5 years old.

I am starting to like my brother!

Numerous things have made me happy lo these past weeks.

One, I just received a beautiful winder coat which a few woman have admired and fits perfectly.

Two, I have a new Doctor who is completely Trans friendly who increased my HRT.

Three, I manage to get away with walking around work wearing boots with three inch heels.

Fourth, I got ma'amed a couple times last week.

Fifth and finally, I am in contact with HR about transitioning.

I am concerned that despite my calculations, time-lines and project plan, HRT might cause me to adjust forward my timetable as breast growth is happening quicker than planned.

These might seem like little things but they made me super happy. Two days ago I made my first appointment for anything as Alyssa (bloodwork for HRT). Today, I created a new Facebook page for Alyssa and deleted the male one. All the friends that support me have transferred over and the ones who don't? Well, I guess they got deleted too. ;)
My name is Alyssa. Emily was my name for myself when I was a teen. Why did I make Emily part of my username? To remind myself that everything I am now is because of everything I have gone through up to this point.

Went to my first medical appointment related to GD. It was a success! I was told that I took the correct first step and that I now have a referral to see the base psychiatrist to confirm my dysphoria and to get my referral to the multidisciplinary team so as to establish my treatment plan. Yay!  ;D

Was doing the forms to get a new passport (not gender marker stuff yet!), old one was expired; and was reading on the web page all the instructions, warnings, and reasons...

among the reasons for for getting a new passport even if old is not expired..

"undergoing gender transition."

If you'd have suggested to me that reading something like that on a state department, bureaucratic rules page, would effect me in any way I would have laughed.

But it did.  It was incredibly validating, seeing that written there, that the Feds know I can exists as what I am, and don't mind a bit of effort to accommodate the process.

otoh, my attempt to grow hair just made things worse, MPB is awful.  Head is now buzzed and will be staying that way.  Wigville for me...

I'm in the same boat. Right now, I'm trying this stuff, called Nioxin. It was created by a lady who started thinning during and after her pregnancy, who also had a bald father. I just tried it yesterday and I was looking into a laser brushes, as well. I'll give it a go before I call it quits. On the other end of that, I haven't bought an electrolysis machine, yet, so I'm beginning to tweeze my torso hair... it's not too bad after a while, but can be painful. I'm only doing small areas at a time, though, so I'm at least allowing my skin to rest for a while before I determine whether I should do any more.

Something covered by TOS 5 had me pretty happy most of the day today but I can't really talk about it :)

Besides this, I spent 15 minutes with my boss at work (the british boss, at the client). I admire him a lot and I kind of miss him because we used to work more closely in the past but I guess that his work was recognised by the upper spheres and he must have been promoted or something like that, because these days my actual boss is another one, but I still regard this one as my true superior. He's the one I came out to a few weeks ago.

Today my boss (spanish one, at my employer) is landing into the UK. He should be here already, and by now I would have come out to him but unfortunately his flight was delayed and he's still flying as I write this. There will probably not be enough time left today to have such a serious conversation, so let's see what happens tomorrow. More people is coming though, and they will be around tomorrow, which makes things more complicated.

I'm expecting my new birth certificate some time this week. It appears that its taking a few extra days because I'm having my old birth records sealed by court order, but once that's received, my transition is "over."

* HRT/Full time:  Started 2002
* Name change:  Completed 2003
* New Passport/Driver's license/SSA records:  Completed 2003
* SRS:               Completed 2003
* Returned to school, got new degree, updated DD214/High school records/college transcripts, rebuilt credit under new name/scrubbed all references of my old self completely off the internet/patched relationship with family, enjoyed life, traveled the world:  2004 - Current
* Received court order changing birth certificate sex:  Completed 2016

The end is almost here :)

I've been at Susan's on/off since before HRT in 2002, so I'll certainly miss this place.

****
As far as something happy today, my wife mentioned that we should celebrate the end of transition and our upcoming 20th anniversary, so we spent the evening looking for a nice cruise.  (Probably a quick 7 day, NYC to Southampton, England run on the Queen Mary 2.)

Hi Siobhan!!!... Congrats on getting things moving!!!... I just wanted to say that you might not want to expend too much time, money and effort on body hair removal... You may find that chest hair takes care of itself once you are established on HRT for a while... I had a fairly hàiry upper chest and torso and it all just faded away... Faces are sadly, another matter though!!!

Onward we go!!!

Let go of the things that no longer serve you... Let go of the pretense of the false persona, it is not you... Let go of the armor that you have worn for a lifetime, to serve the expectations of others and, to protect the woman inside... She needs protection no longer.... Oh? I didn't know that. LOL, I do enjoy the parts that I've tweezed, already, but if it's going to take care of itself, then I probably will stop. XD

The face, on the other hand, will be a challenge. I'll definitely take it nice and slow so that I don't mess up my face permanently.

Thanks for the tip, Ashley! :)

My chest hair is invisible, but wow can I feel it! I was gonna wax it off yesterday, but the power went out. I did manage to get my hands waxed before it did and that made a big difference. I'm sure more will go on its own, but after two years on HRT I'm losing some patience. I have looked at the hands of AFAB girls, (including my sister), and many of them have hair on their hands similar to mine. I see removing it as more of a confidence builder than anything.
April 22, 2015, the day of my first face to face pass in gender neutral clothes and no makeup. It may be months to the next one, but I'm good with that!

Being transgender is just a phase. It hardly ever starts before conception and always ends promptly at death.

Yeah, I just prefer not to have hair all over, that's all.

My brother said he didn't care what I wore to his wedding in january and I could come dressed femme if I wanted to.  That made me feel so good inside.

Just got my appointment made at my mental health office to discuss my dysphoria. Also, my commander sent out the newest publication about transgender service members and was very clear that he will not tolerate discrimination or maltreatment of those who are transgender. Surely, but slowly, things are starting to take place. Before I know it, I'll be on HRT and begin to express my true self. I'm excited.  ;D
