There's an image being projected for the masses. Imagine being the father of a high school-aged girl who, after her physical education class, is forced to be in the shower with an MtF trans-person who still has a penis. The image for the masses doesn't mention the trans-person is taking serious androgen blockers that make erections, as well as sexual desires, pretty much non-existant.

I'm so old I don't even know if that scenario is even possible, where school districts have trans-inclusive policies about shower facilities. What I do know is that dirty old lawmakers are projecting their fantasies onto people who are immune to them.

Fortunately, the chance of the Republicans winning the election are very slim.  Whichever of their two top candidates are nominated, both have the highest disapproval ratings among the general population in the history of this country.  If the party rigs the convention and chooses somebody else their base will rebel, and probably riot with great violence.  In short, the Republicans are screwed.
