Hi everyone, I've been sitting here on my desktop for a good 20 mins just randomly scrolling through this website thinking of what I should do. Read a few posts and thought I might as well do an introduction. So without further ado I'll get started!

My name is Danae (said as 'dih-nay') Malo or more commonly known as Dae (said as 'Day') and I am a 19 year old transgender who lives all the way in NEW ZEALAND. I've been on the site a couple times and thought that this is such a useful site for those who need it and require it! I'm currently not on hormones but hope to start Hormone Replacement Therapy sometime this year. I'm a Pacific Islander/of Samoan descent so being a transgender isn't really a new thing to my people, we've just been known as another name: 'Fa'afafine' which means 'to do in the manner of a woman.' However in saying that, transgender/fa'afafine are still frowned upon in our society that breeds hate and corruption and I hope to be able to make a difference and change that perspective. I'm a full time student at the University of Auckland studying a Bachelors of Health Sciences (also known as Pre-Med in New Zealand) and hope to find a career somewhere in the Health Sector (possibly a Doctor/Physician) of the Education Sector (Teaching Biology/Science) I tend to waffle alot (as you can tell by this paragraph i'm writing ) so I love talking, discussing random things, reading fantasy/autobiography books, EATING (oh how I love food, you can tell when you look at my body ), cooking pacific food, teaching people, binge watching TV shows, being the sarcastic friend and being surrounded by positive people! I can't wait to be able to make international friends and to learn and hear all the different experiences of all those who have come before me and to appreciate the path that YOU have all paved for us younger generations.
