I actually don't mind a little dose of reality around here....not necessarily in this case, but there's far too many unrealistic  compliments handed out which IMO is just as damaging (similar to what Angelique was referring to) than being honest.

Real life doesn't have filters.  IMO heavy filters on selfies are essentially telling a lie to the world.

Why stop at max phone filter settings?  Why not just post a pic of -[female]- setting on FaceApp and pass it off as "the real you".  Oh that's right.. cuz it's not

I didnt have a heavy filter on so.. None of this makes sense to me... My camera has a beautify option.. It blur your face a little.. And im not worried about "passing".. People read me as female at work all the time.. I admit to using the beautify feature but its not super heavily photo shopped... But whateves... Whats the purpose of this thread again?? Are we not aloud to want compliments??  -_-

Here it's about each person saying they felt fabulous and wanted to share it with other transwomen who understand the struggle we all face. And sometimes, you need to be lied to because the real world is cruel enough as it is. We don't need to be questioning filter decisions, makeup choices, clothing options... wheves you want to nitpic one.

Some of us are new to all of this. Why would you want to belittle them in such a way?!? (This is rhetorical).

This thread has gone way past what it was intended for. Time to reel it back before it gets shut down.

I was primarily defending Angelique's view on "airbrushed filter" usage.  You just admitted you used a beautify option that blurred your face a little, but tbh, it does look heavy and unnatural.  I already gave you a compliment but I'll repeat in case you missed it the first time:  You look cute ...and I'm sure a pic of yourself without any filters would still look cute whilst also looking more natural.

i agree. "Do I pass" shouldn't have been deleted. If people didn't want to hear the truth they shouldn't have posted on it because that was the main reason for that thread.

I use this thread all the time. I'm not looking for passing advice (you don't know what gender I am anyway) from anyone when I post here. I would consider it unwanted input. Anyone can start a new passing thread anytime they want. Hell, there's a whole subforum devoted to it.
