I will consider getting the FBI involved in this.

This evil man inside the USA has stolen my genuine newspaper photos and has made MY FACE the lead photo lead-in to a vitriolic 4 minute video on youtube denouncing Target Stores nationwide recent decision to have gender discrimation-free restrooms.

I am not a public figure. Use of my genuine photos without my permission in a libelous, slanderous way in a video that says there is a need for fathers to guard their 12 year old daughters when entering a public restroom with me (remember, it is MY photo that is now being distributed nationwide by nut groups distributing this slanderous video) or other trans girls FALSELY using my photos constitutes a Federal Felony in the United States. He calls me and other genuine trans girls "men." In the UK this is a jailable hate crime. In the USA it is a jailable false illegal use of my photos as a non-public figure and illegally slanders me to a nationwide right-wing audience.  There is even a link on the same youtube page to a nationwide USA Today article so MY photos are now linked to endangering children in restrooms in USA TODAY. This is pure evil. I haven't even ENTERED the United States in 4 YEARS.

Needless to say I won't be entering the United States anytime soon. I will continue to stay away from the United States even though I am a US Citizen by birth. I fear being murdered in the United States by vigilante nut cases when I use the restroom. One candidate for Sheriff in Denton County Texas declared publicly and it's on youtube about a week ago that he will personally beat up any trans lady who enters the restroom with his daughter. Not arrest me -- physically beat me up. It is quite scary for me when armed law enforcement officials in the United States publicly threaten to beat me up, vigilante style, if I use the correct (female) restroom in the USA. I am female according to the United States Government, as it declares on my United States Passport F for female.

My life is fine right now in real life. I have had a quite successsful transition to 24 / 7 womanhood in all aspects of my life. But if these evil people cause me enough problems I might have to commit suicide. This is probably what they want. Well, they might succeed in getting me to commit suicide. We will see.

A few arrests by the FBI of  nuts who commit illegal Federal Felonies against me and other trans ladies might be the only deterrent against their pure evil.

If people here or the Admin here feel that my sharing of this drastic and illegal defamation of a full time, legally female trans girl by associating me and other trans ladies with being child perverts in restrooms/toilets -- and not just as a "tragic news article" but being bullied against ME, Jennifer, personally, and I report this to you -- this has happened on April 26, 2016 to ME -- if this is deemed inappropriate and timely tragic example of the vitriolic nationwide hate we trans ladies are now experiencing in the USA on a national, even presidential candidate, level, then I am probably in the wrong group here and I should stick to a more receptive audience for the truth about my life. But if you can permit my sharing of a TRUE event RIGHT NOW against ME your full time, legally female trans sister, and some expression of sympathy, that would seem to be the most appropriate types of responses I receive. If not, my apologies for speaking a tragic event in my life publicly and you will never hear from me again -- you will have to look for me elsewhere. I have had my words and photos in many nationwide newspaper articles and TV shows, if that is of interest to anyone. Cheers, Jennifer xx

Dear Jennifer,

I am shocked and of course I and all of the members are horrified that this could have happened to you.

This is horrible!

Please take every legal action you can against people who are illegally using you photographs.

I have to admit that as an Australian I have a very limited knowledge of USA law but this certainly is a morally disgusting act and I hope that you can gain justice. Please fight for your rights.

you should use every legal avenue possible. I'm not a lawyer so I don't know the law , but I'm guessing that your photos may be in the public domain . You've been in trans beauty pageants and I've seen your photos from those pageants. Again I'm not a lawwer , but I'm guessing your photos are coming from the public domain. If someone picked up my photos from here there is probably not much I could do accept maybe sue to stop them from using them , I don't know.

Dear Jennifer,
I can't imagine the pain this has caused you. These are truly horrible people. I hope you don't do anything bad. That would truly be a tragedy. Fight it if you can, but don't let it ruin your life. As I am somewhat new here, I haven't read a lot of your postings, but it sounds like you have accomplished a lot. You have my sincere best wishes.

If I ever offend you, let me know. It's not what I am about.

If you want to do something about this, you definitely need to consult a (US) lawyer with experience in this area.  Whether you have grounds to sue (either for damages or to cease and desist) is going to depend on a lot of details about your case and about the law.  None of us here is in any position to say.

FWIW, I doubt this is the sort of thing the FBI handles, but a good attorney would be able to answer this.

Thanks for your nice support all. xx

Consulting a free pro-bono attorney from an LGBT-friendly organization is all I can afford to do. Or maybe ACLU ?

Throw every legal option you have at this.

I've noticed that a lot of Americans tend to take an "Out of sight, out of mind" approach to things. It wouldn't suprise me if the individual in question just selected a picture at random without thinking "Hey, This is a real person I could be putting at risk". Cause to them, we're not. Individuals who do things like what was done to you need to be held accountable. There are consequences to these kinds of actions and it incenses me when public figures (*cough*Donald Trump*cough*) hide behind "Well, I can't control the actions of my supporters" or "I didn't actually say that". Yes they can. Technically, they did. They lack the will and warewithal to stand up to their and say "Hey, not cool". Money and votes are more important than the saftey of others to them.

But yeah, fight it if this is especially going to negatively impact your life.

This is absolutely unconscionable, both from the general perspective of oppression of the transgender community and especially as a personal attack on you.  I hope that you can find legal justice, and at the same time, I'm embarrassed for this country for the shameful treatment of lovely human beings like yourself.

In an attempt to put a positive spin on this, it sounds like an excellent platform from which to return fire. One of the questions that may be asked of the sheriff in a public forum is "do you regularly beat women?" Another would be "what threat exactly is posed by a trans woman without the ability or inclination to attempt NON-consensual intercourse, stealing lipstick?"

This kind of stupidity is entirely based on ignorance and bigotry, maybe it's time it was coherently pointed out, publicly.

Please use every possible legal action against these nutjobs. People like this disgust me, gosh, I can't even put it into words. They simply disgust me more than anything else in the world. I'm not American, I live in Europe, but I love the USA and want to move there and my girlfriend is American but she lives in a very progressive state so I wouldn't be particularly scared to move to her area. But sometimes when I hear things like this and watch/read American news I get anxious and scared. I don't really want to bash the US, as it's a country I really love, but some people over there are pretty insane. I'm not saying Europe is some trans-friendly heaven (it's really not, especially with the forced sterilization of trans people who want to legally change the gender written on documents, at least in some countries), but the religious right in the US is absolutely disgusting and dangerous and it all just borders on psychopathy, or worse. It's pure evil, as you say.

So by all means, use every legal action you can use. I agree that finding a good American lawyer, especially a LGBT friendly one is the step you should take.

I'm really sorry and I hope all these people will be harshly punished by US law. I'm confident they will.

QuoteI am female according to the United States Government, as it declares on my United States Passport F for female.
No one should need a government to tell them whether they are female or male or other. Unfortunately, I think we're far from being totally free to determine who we really are without long legal processes. No one else gets to define us but ourselves. Even if you were male according to the US Government, no one has the right to treat you like that or call you a man or say you pose a threat to others.

That dumb, ignorant and disgusting sheriff should think about protecting his daughter from CIS MEN, since they're usually the ones who go around raping people  ::)

That said, didn't the sheriff actually threaten to break the law? Isn't it illegal to physically attack people? I hope it is. How does he get away with saying things like this in public? These are threats.

All these uneducated, EVIL, disgusting, sick, horrible, dumb, stupid (insert other insults here) should get a life and stop being uneducated scum. Useless scum  >:(

I guess they're also Christians. They better read the words of Jesus again, they missed his message of love. It makes me even more sick, because we have a similar religion, and it makes me sick that people use the name of G-d to spread their hatred.

Hugs to you, Jennifer! All of this made my heart break. I hope those sick idiots will be put in jail and humiliated for the criminals they are!

I have some contacts at TLC.  You can message me if you want to be put in contact with them.

That is so absolutely horrible. Have you tried contacting Google/You Tube to request they take the video down as a photo not in the public domain and libelous by association. (I'm no lawyer either.) Google/You Tube seems to be a LGBT friendly company and may comply with your request.

Hi,

This should not happen.  I am so sorry.  I have some contacts at the HRC who may help.

To move forward is to leave behind that which has become dear. It is a call into the wild, into becoming someone currently unknown to us. For most, it is a call too frightening and too challenging to heed. For some, it is a call to be more than we were capable of being, both now and in the future.

There are things that you can do.  Youtube has a complaint mechanism for dealing with videos that violate copyright or are defamatory, and is pretty diligent about taking them down.

As to any other website, find out who the hosting service is, and send a DMCA takedown notice.  Google it, it is easy to find and highly effective.

As far as the guy who made the video, suing him is in the far outer realm of possibility, as it will require finding out who he is, as well as where he lives -- doable in this day and age, and not easy.  If you are successful at that, the next step is to see if he has executable assets -- i.e. equity in house, cars, bank accounts, coin collections, guns, etc. that could not be protected by a judgment debtor exemption or a bankruptcy exemption.  If he does, then it is time to start calling lawyers who practice in his jurisdiction and and try to find one interested in taking the case.

It's not hard to find who uploaded the video. And the police can do stuff like that. Sure, it takes computer experts but the police has them. It's not hard to find a person who uploaded or posted something, unless they take extra caution for their privacy and make themselves hard to track. But it still can be done as no one is 100% anonymous on the internet not even behind a proxy or VPN service or whatever.

But if the person who uploaded the video is not the creator of the video and they simply uploaded it and they don't know who created it then things get more complicated. Still, getting the police and a lawyer involved is the best thing because they can investigate.
Yes as Carly says Youtube can take those videos down. But knowing who the uploader of the video was could reveal the identity of the creator too. Maybe it's the same person or maybe it's someone who knows the creator of the video.

Thanks so much to all for the kind support of all. Obviously if I take up any of your many kind offers to referrals to sympathetic organizations, I will then share with them the various links on youtube and facebook.

I cannot function well if I feel pressured on this so please feel free to keep all your wonderful suggestions coming. Probably I will do some follow-up soon such as commenting more specifically back to your excellent ideas and or contacting legal help and other stuff. Emotionally Im not up to that just now.

I did post 3 messages publicly to the evil person's facebook page in his same thread wear he used my photos to associate me with bathroom perverts. As of yesterday he hadn't taken the thread down from facebook, and the defamatory video is still there on youtube -- as of yesterday I didnt yet look today it is kinda depressing.

My real life face to face stuff is actually mostly rather excellent right now with cis (non-trans) people only nearly all of whom treat me very well as Jennifer including nearly all strangers in public, but online I get things like cis (non-trans) religious bigots nationally bullying me by using my photos for vitriolic anti-trans bathroom toilet videos and I online I still get bullied sometimes by trans bullies. Sometimes this makes me feel like giving up on life, and my suicide often seems like a very good option because this would end these problems in the few seconds it takes to kill myself -- plus small transportation time and very low money cost to a nearby tall building without guardrails.

Jennifer.

You know, that is my name as well.  In that respect, we are more than just sisters in transgender blood.  It was a name that was both given to me and chosen by me: it is who I am and while there has been pain, I am me.  I hope you feel the same about being you.

This is a temporary problem and one that we will fix.  I don't know where to start.  PM me and let me know where to start or where this information resides on the internet or post here and let us all know.  We are here.  Let us help.

Hugs,

Jen
