Cup sizes and bras?

So I recently measured my boobs, and found several calculators all of which have given me different bra sizes.

My measurements I took:
Above Bust: 39.5"
Bust: 43"
Under Bust: 37.5"
Leaning Bust: 44"
lying bust 42"

With those numbers, One calculator said 38E, which the sister sizes would be 40C, 40D, or 36F
with another calculator, which only asked for the above, under, and bust measurements (the first three), it came out with 42C, which sister sizes would be 44B and 40D. I am completely confused because for only just getting into month three those bra sizes seem odd to me XD It makes me wonder which bra size I should go for because like I know my breasts are only in tanner stage two and that they look more like A cups to me in my opinion, but yeah I'm super confused.

The best option is to go to a large store, like Macy's or Target and try on lots of bras. Size calculators can help, but the best insurance is trying on stuff. Good luck!

Not an expert, but it looks to me with your measurements your about a 38-39 C or D.

I view bra sizes the simple way. Makes things easy. I go up 2 from my underbust (for u that 39.5) measurement and a letter for every inch difference from the underbust to the bust. (37.5 - 43 = 5 = E).

Most important is try a lot. Your comfort is going to decide more than a web site what feels right.

I found I don't even like bra's. My fav's are tanks with cups in them. Sooooo much more comfortable.

That makes a lot of sense actually. Just going and trying on seems to be the best option. I like the idea of a general guide line, but seems like it's a lot of guess work in the end, so it get's to be lots of fun! wait that means my sports bras are the wrong size then...XD

At the moment i just wear those genie bras keeps things nice and snug . Guess one day ill venture out and buy a under wire

You are correct honey that in some dresses it works better braless. My profile photo was taken by a professional newspaper photographer in 2015 and might just be the single best photo ever taken of me. First, I recommend going to a quality lingerie store for a fitting. Most good ones near me are trans friendly but I'm not sure that would be true anywhere.  Most cis women have no idea what bra size they really are so don't feel bad. I have seen women be off by as much as 4 band sizes and 5 cup sizes... seriously.

Size charts are not very reliable because bodies, styles and brands all differ. Most people who wear bras tend to err on the side of too big bands and too small cups. This is a problem since the band needs to support most of the weight. The band should be tight but not painful on the biggest setting so that the bra can be tightened as it stretches. The cups should lay flat across the breasts without bunching, sagging or spilling over the top or bottom. The underwire should rest flat against your chest.
Given your measurements but without seeing you, I would suggest starting with a 38D. You might need to go up to a 38DD. I would not suggest a bigger band size.

You measure under your bosoms and then over your breasts with a supportive bra on. You subtract the numbers and that is your bust size. For instance, you were 37.5 under so you round that up to 38. Then you measured over your breasts so the difference from 38 to 43 is 5 so you are a 38 DD to 38 E. The difference of your rib cage to the projection of your breasts is your cup size. So, it goes like this.....

1 inch= A
2 inches= B
3 inches= C
4 inches= D
5 inches= E/DD
6 inches= F/G
and etc.

Each bra fits differently so a E in one size would be a DD in another. I am a 34 F, but that is due to the style I wear, I also fit into a 34 DD in Victorias Secret Angels. Alot depends upon the shape of your breasts, so don't try to order online until you find one that fits and you have the style number. Also, for those measuring uneven number under their breasts, or rib cage(this is the band size) round it up to the next even number, band sizes are 32,34,36,38,40 and so on.

Hope this helps. The best way is to go to Victorias Secret or Macys, or even a Brazier for a fitting.

They have some lacy geni bras which I have two of,I also have 2 regular geni bras...I have some underwire bras but they are not as comfortable as the geni bra.

The lace is SO pretty on them, but like panties, it is really uncomfortable. I like the smooth underwires myself and also the lace looks horrible under a thin t-->-bleeped-<-!

The sad reality is there is no "Standardization", No science with bra sizing just as will everything to do with women's clothing. Like most women it's hit or miss and once you find a brand and style that works, you stick with it. Or accumulate a drawer full of bras that almost fit well. Same for dress sizes. Years ago I was a 12-14. Today I am pretty much the same measurements. I have outfits from size 8 to 14. By every size chart NFW can I possibly be an 8. Yet there it is on the labels and fits perfectly

Most bra size calculators I looked at say I am a C. I know for a fact I am a full A, maybe a B. BUT, the girls are wall-eyed which really throws things off.

Add to that I have this not so standard rib cage. Move the tape just 1 inch up/down and you'll may get a 2" or more difference in circumference. Ditto for trying to keep it absolutely level when wrapped around you. So which measurement is the real one?
