I am waiting to see if I can pass.

A comment by one passer-by, which my friend, the photographer, heard and later told me: "Too tall to be a woman, but likely a woman". Yes. They talk a lot about me behind, but I can not hear it.

Cheers!

Just do it.

Oh, "too tall" is such BS. I know cis women who are 6ft+. Hell, to be a model you HAVE to be that tall! I swear, cis people, if they know someone is trans, focus on miniscule things that fit plenty of cis women but they have to come up with *some* kind of "tell". Ugh.

Which is to say, you are definitely not too tall, and I'd personally never guess that you were trans based on these photos. You look like a stunning, fit, middle-aged woman. <3

I'm at 9.5 months HRT, started at 22 and I'm 23 now.. could you see me passing after a couple more years?

By this photo, you pass right now, IMO.

Fantastic hair!  You have a fairly delicate chin and a small upper lip, quite good.

Your mandible is a bit square, but that's not a biggie.  Your nose seems a bit larger than it should be, though, and it's where it bridges to your forehead that I can discern slight brow bossing. Your eyebrows could do with a trim.  It'd be nice to see your features without makeup, and some profile shots.

I suspect you pass quite well as is.  If all you ever had was a nose job, I bet you'd be fine.  :)

Assuming your voice is spot on, and facial hair removal is taken care of, if you had FFS you'd be completely unclockable.

I'm agree.

I think you should give HRT a bit more time to see how it would be, before considering FFS. If you face doesn't change during that period, you can considering FFS in order to pass. You aren't passing yet because some facial bones which gives your a bit masculine appearance. Your brow bridge, nose, eyebrows and five o'clock shadow is some masculine traits.

I know. I have very little money right now. I just started a new part time job and haven't been paid yet. Having to work as male is the reason my eyebrows aren't more thin. I teach ESL online so I need to appear male on camera.. luckily my face appears in a small window. I am planning on doing laser this winter when some money comes in, and switching to injections hopefully as well. I may end up passing from the front but my brow ridge, nose and forehead will never pass without FFS

Outside on the deck...what do you all think.

Rachael

In my imagination I see a fair world,
Everyone lives in peace and in honesty there.
I dream of souls that are always free,
Like the clouds that fly,
Full of humanity in the depths of the soul.

No makeup???  Here it is...

And straight on...

And profile...

And now that you've seen that, you can't unsee the man, right?  [emoji23]

Honestly? You still look pretty androgynous to me. I wish I could get make-up advice from you, though, for sure. :)

Oh! I'd be happy to!  Thank you so much!  But I'm basically just trying to imitate this girl I used to work with who was always Gorgeous!  Anything that alludes me gets searched on youtube. [emoji12]

Well whatever you're doing, it's working. I posted a professional attempt at doing my face a couple of days ago (deleted because the deafening silence made me feel awkward) and it wasn't half as good.

The brow bossing is more visible in profile, but overall doesn't really impinge on your eyes, which is the important thing.  Looks like you've got some facial hair to clean up.  And, of course, you have your youth.

I stand by my previous assertions!

Not that you need it, but given your great starting point FFS would make you totally unclockable, assuming your voice is there.
What you look forward to has already come, but you do not recognize it.

If you wouldn't mind posting that again, I'd like to see.

Sure -- I will! But I'm not going to do it here. I don't pass and I'm not really strong enough to get the critique that happens on this thread yet.

Before I go, though, do you have any make-up tutorials or youtube channels that you particularly like?

EDIT: Okay, I posted them in the "You look fabulous" thread again.

Kool!  Thanks!  I'll head over and check it out.  My favorite channel is glam and gore.  My wife says I've got disney princess eyes, so I focus on that.  Anything else, I search one thing.(like maybe foundation) and find a whole playlist to watch.  Then after about a dozen videos I just try it again with the sum of all that information.  It also makes for a fun evening![emoji1]

You do have some androgynous in you, but you do look a bit male in certain places in your face. The brow bridge/brow bossing and the big nose with a few sharp edge in it do definitely look masculine which makes passing harder. Shaping your eyebrows may improve your passing a bit.

Sorry Karlie Ann, but you don't pass at all.  Your masculine features are just too strong to begin with.  And 2 months on HRT isn't nearly enough time to significantly alter one's face.  You're doing better though!  Compared to some of your older photos, your choices in accessories (such as wig, eyeglasses, are much more feminine).

I...Jeez.  Ouch.  I have huge fears that I'll never be able to pass, so I kind of was hoping for, not yet, but you've got potential.  I haven't had that yet, and I'm beginning to suspect I never will.  I read this a week ago and it was enough to make me stop the hormones.  I guess I'm in limbo.  Damned if I do and damned if I don't.
Your current situation is not your final destination.

Hi Karlie Ann,

I hate reading this. Dysphoria sucks and I know exactly the fear you're talking about. BUT. I looked back over your photos... you have pretty eyes and great lips. Your wig works really well for your face. And your make-up skills are on point. You look a lot more feminine in your avatar than in the first or last photo you posted, too.

I guess what I'm saying is, don't base your entire life on one "brutally honest" poster's opinion. Once we get to a certain age, all of us have masculine and feminine traits, and all of us face the possibility that we may never pass as well as we would like.  But listen: my therapist told me a couple of weeks ago that she had never met someone who went through transition and didn't eventually get to a result they liked. That doesn't mean we all 100% pass. But it does mean all the transpeople she's known have found a better life.

Whatever you do, be well,
Meghan
