In the meantime, your best photos are in the middle row, and it has entirely to do with how you wear your hair, which flows nicely down the sides making a lovely oval frame for your face; your smile is also more relaxed here.

Thanks Sophia!
All very interesting and informative. I am planning to get a trach shave for sure. Since I am 42 years old, happily single and spiritual grounded, I don't think making my face "prettier" will be a necessity for me. My body and face do not help me to make money, I use my brain for that and hardly meet face to face with people I do work for. I would love to fix the broken stuff, like I am doing to my teeth. I used to have a nicer smile, but I inherited bad teeth and they are falling apart. That is taking a bunch of my money. :( I wanted Rhinoplasty since I was a teen, after it got broke a few times and I didn't go to the DR. Maybe after the teeth implants are finished, all of them. I am also a transhumanist https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transhumanism and hope to someday have a perfect female body built for me and transfer my consciousness into it. Heck if this body is dying I would even hop into a female robot. Dumping money into this old fixer upper may not be the path I choose for my future.

From your observations I gather that I will have to skill up my makeup techniques for now. I am only 1 year 4 months into HRT, My face could soften more as I stay on it. Thanks for the tips on the hair style! Part of my worry of going too big with the breasts is I think they would interfere with building circuit boards and electronics. They already get in the way sometimes lol.

Ahhh the dreaded voice. Yeah well I sound like a demon >:-) so I don't talk much hahahahahaha.

When you say I have a killer bod, part of me feels like you are messing with me. I know you are probably not though, I have to keep it hidden or people trip over themselves... Its too bad places are not looking for models with bags over their heads. I could make $$ lol.  ;D

I would love to pass without makeup. Or at least minimal amounts of it. I tried many types and they all are itchy. Top row is no makeup, only "Blistex Lip Vibrance" chapstick. I think the color light I used in the top row helped my natural glow. I think I hadn't shaved in a few days in those picts.

Second row is full makeup, night lighting. (minimal lip color) I have been trying contouring for my nose to make it look less crooked and broken. I need to also work on my lips, they are so thin even after 1 year+ on E and 6 month on blockers. Will the HRT ever puff them out any?

The bottom 2 picts are a different type of make up. Also trying to define the lips some. I need TIPS on lips, anyone know any.

Last the pict on the bottom right is "guy mode" daylight. Everything scrubbed off! Un brushed hair...

Should I just stay in "guy mode" until HRT has more time to work its magic? I don't feel like I would pass as a girl yet. Any tips or suggestions, other than surgery (can't afford that yet) to help me pass as a girl? Which row is closest to passing? I am a mess I guess. lol

Thanks for any input!

Without FFS it would be difficult for you to pass as a cis woman. It would be almost impossible. Even though HRT and makeup have their powers, it would probably not be strong enough to change a whole face. Your body do pass very well, but your face wouldn't pass. Especially not if a person stands very to close you. Males do often have larger noses, ears, brow bridge etc than females. Therefor it's difficult to pass as a cis woman. But strangers can still use right pronouns and names. People do get it when it comes to your own gender even though you doesn't look cis.

Dear Lord!  Barbie, You are so tall and gorgeous!

Thanks, Amanda.
Yes. I see many tall women here, not to mention tall men.
I am no so much tall (6 feet, 183 cm), but look far taller with high heels.
Fortunately, I see a lot of women wearing high heels in the downtown of San Diego.

@barbie; Looking great as usual Barbie. Did you change your avatar this week?  ;) It looks like one I saw months ago, lol.

Jade,

Yes. That's right. I always declare "I change my avatar every week" below my avatar. That is the same for my Facebook profile and cover photos.

Enjoy your life!

shouting out to jade_404 , you LOOK like my older sister when she was your age. freaked me out a little.... she passed away last year. If your mannerisms and voice register female with people I honestly don't think you'd have a ton of problems blending in with all the other girls out and about. The only thing that really jumps out is your guy pic, yes a trach shave would help with your overall look.

some general thoughts.... all of you girls posting here are looking great in your each individual way. don't post here much as it makes me a little crazy it times. girls do me a favor quit comparing yourself to models , actresses and some crazy a#$ female standard pulled off the internet for how women are supposed to look. go out in the REAL world and take a long hard realistic look at the women out their. we are trying to meet a standard that most fbab's don't even meet. jessica

@lostcharlie; So sorry to hear about the loss of your sister. Sorry to freak you out! What you say in your post made me feel better, I was feeling a bit discouraged after reading what Sebby said. The "almost impossible" to pass without FFS part... See I just want to do like you say "blending in with all the other girls out and about". I am not looking to be pretty, It is bad enough my body has to be hidden, imagine if my face looked great too... I don't want that kind of attention. I do look at women out there and many have bigger nose than me, or long face, or many other issues, we all have our flaws and some of it IS beautiful and unique. I don't want to dice my face up, you know. I am saving to get some FFS in the future, trach shave and nose job. Hugs! thanks for making me feel better!

@Harley Quinn; Haha bubble butt! I have not heard that word in forever. Made me laugh thanks :)

@Sebby Michelango; I respect your input and honesty. That said, I am unsure why you jumped right to FFS. I see you tell others to give HRT time, but not me. I have only been on it a year. Like I said above, I just want to blend in better, I don't need to be perfect, pretty Cis looking. Just pass as a girl, even if I am an ugly girl. In my original post I asked "Any tips or suggestions, other than surgery (can't afford that yet) to help me pass as a girl? " That is what I was hoping you would comment on. FFS is something I have planned for 2020, for now I wanted advice on what to do to blend. Thanks anyway.

jade_404, no worries the "freak out" was not a bad thing , more of omg you look just like my sister. I get your concern about your nose. It can be "fixed" at some time but don't let that stop you living your authentic life. My sister and I shared the same nose, our grandfathers. Goggle "Jimmy Durante" and thats pretty much what we both have/had stuck between our eyes ! It's hard to make real suggestions for improving ones appearance just based on some not always the best photos. Here's a suggestion. If you have any girl friends get their input . They say the devils in the details and some one that knows you well could quite possibly give you better advice. It could be anything from small adjustments in make up or hair, clothing, mannerisms etc. Best of luck going forward. Jessica.
P.S. not implying your nose is even close to what my sister and I got stuck with. your overall resemblance to my big sis in your top three photos is just uncanny....

Can't tell if I succeed at trying to look like an edgy punk/grungey type girl... or if I just look like a guy with bad makeup.  Here.  Any thoughts?

Hi Amanda combs you have similar bushy eyebrows to me, lol. I think you would look a lot better if they were threaded nicely....I understand maybe is something u can't do right now(I don't think I could do it in my present situation) but it would have a big impact on your look.
From a critical point of view I think you need to practice on your make up, maybe visit a makeup stall and get them to show you how to properly do your makeup.  Saying that I like your look. You look great overall.  Just some small observations.  :)

Sorry, I've changed my mind after all these times I have been at this forum. At certain people HRT works wonderful and can change a whole face. But in very many cases HRT, clothing, hairstyle, makeup etc. isn't enough in order to pass due some features. HRT can change a persons face after giving it time sometimes, but not always. Some people wouldn't pass even with HRT. I used to be more careful before recommending FFS in the past because I had too high "expectations"/beliefs how HRT works. Even though it's wonderful, it's not amazing enough to always make you suddenly look cis or passing 100%. HRT doesn't always change a person's nose or brow bridge. But estrogen do often give people breasts, fat changes, softer skin and hair.

Looks change over time.  These are (from left to right) my 6 mo on HRT, 1 year, 2 year and 5 year on HRT pics.  (No FFS)

For privacy purposes I won't post my 10 year or 13 year (current) pics, but my change in looks from 5 years to current are MUCH more profound than from start to 5 years.

Have patience and let HRT do its work.

You never had strong masculine bone structures in your face to begin with.  Very little if any brow bossing, a short face, a short upper lip, a well proportioned chin and jaw, delicate curvature to your nose, and a great hairline.  You pass right off the bat.  HRT has softened your skin and rounded your cheeks, not that you even needed that, because you look cis in every picture anyways.
What you look forward to has already come, but you do not recognize it.

I'm sure makeup would help but wonder if the possibility of passing is there?

My personal opinion is if you aren't passing, you are very close to passing. You have the girl next door look where you are open, inviting and comfortable with yourself as you are. I suspect others will suggest improvements but with voice and proper presentation you should be able to pass.

Do I look like I could pass as female?

Yes.  That hair is fantastic, and your face isn't strongly masculine or anything.  I assume you don't have facial hair issues -- in person they aren't easily masked by makeup.

Given your frame you will absolutely need a good voice, but on first glance you should be able to be gendered female.

What you look forward to has already come, but you do not recognize it.

Jalynn, No make up ? Good gosh you look better than most of the cis women I know ! I would kill to have your smile. No make up ... as I shake my head with amazement.......

Stacitg1, Looking pretty darn good to me. Kind of hard to see small details in your face due to the shadows, but overall pretty cute from my viewpoint. Like you outfit too. Oh ... and some nice legs to boot !
