Honest opinions please, how masculine / feminine is my face? any features that scream either sex? Also glasses - always thought they was rather unisex? or do i need to change these up to something more fem?

Shambles,

The glasses are just fine.

With the clothes you are wearing and without any hair showing, I would say a bit on the androgynous side, but I do see potential.

@Shambles
Hi Jo -
feminine attributes - great nose shape and angle, excellent lip size and shape, the colour choices for scarf and top are more feminine choices. glasses are excellent, your eyebrows look like they might be shaped curved but they're a little light coloured to tell from these photos - when I see them next to your glasses I might recommend an eyebrow pencil to darken and define them slightly. you have great looking skin with no wrinkles - excellent.

masculine traits -  your chin is more pronounced than most cis-woman, your brow is more pronounced - although you have a great bridge where your nose meets your brow line - so excellent.

Also I see a great difference in the way your first photo is nice and soft and feminine simply from that gentle smile your giving, when I look at the other photos, you have a slight frown by comparison.

The quickest, easiest changes you could make are, an eyebrow pencil to slightly darken and define eyebrows and just smile a bit more - not sure if your a bit serious just for the photos or not, but smiling is always good PLUS it increases the volume of your cheeks and looks feminine as a result.

Hope this helps,

Sonja.

Hi All,
I thought I would get expert opinion on what sorts of changes I should be making...

The current avatar, which I sort of liked...

And, a mug shot from 25 pounds ago...

Thanks for your honesty!

Wow Katie, you look amazing and beautiful and you have a nice round chin. I cant think of any changes you should make, you look perfect as you are. Definitely would never guess you were even transgender with how you look as i see no masculinity in your appearance at all. Did you get FFS? You did great in your transitioning girl. :D

@Shambles Why dont you post a picture of you with your hair like your other avatar pic that you took down? That is by far your best pic but your first pic you posted here is very good. You have soft feminine features to your face and your skin looks vibrant and fair skinned, the chin might need cosmetic plastic surgery as your second picture shows a rather protruding chin but its fine. Look at Angelina Joilie and her square chin, you can achieve feminine features without surgery (or even HRT for that matter) but most women have either v shaped or oval chins. There are yoga exercises and acupressure you can do for your chin if you want to try them. :)

Try the exercises and acupressure, i mean there is a slight chance they can be effective and make FFS for the chin unnecessary as i have heard people going through plastic surgery for their chins and their chins looked very distorted afterwards. What i suggest is a more natural way.
I'm my girly self awaiting the day i look like the girl i am through transitioning physically male-to-female in order to becoming more of what is kept inside me so that i feel complete and experience life truly as who i am so that i don't have any regrets.

Hi Kate,
I'll assume you're only after non-surgical cosmetic opinions.

IMO your avatar photo is perfect - glasses are fun and feminine, great earrings, hair is excellent, makeup - excellent and well balanced, top is great and all your colours work really well together.
In your next photo everything is fine except your blush on your cheeks doesn't feel right, I'm not an expert but I think its either a bit too strong or too large an area that's been applied. The avatar photo seems perfectly balanced and I can see the blush but its not as strong - of course it could be the lighting or the way the camera has captured the photo.
You have a cheerful and pretty face which is lovely!  :)

Take care,

Sonja.

Thanks, Sonja. I really appreciate the opinions and totally concur about the blush.

IF I were to think surgery, the two things that jump out at me are all the wrinkles around the eyes, and shortening the distance from the upper lip to the bottom of the nose. IF I were thinking surgery, what do you think?

And, both Sonja, and Sheila: THANK-YOU SO MUCH for the really sweet comments! It has been sort of a crappy month, but your two posts literally balance a pretty crappy month, and push it into the positive! Your comments could not have come at a better time!!

Dear Katie:
Supportive comments and thoughts from those members that follow your progress can be certainly helpful and encouraging when you may need it most.

Please allow me to state that I concur with the comments for @Sonja and @hiddengirlsheila and I agree that you are looking very beautiful, especially in your Avatar Profile picture...  I love your glasses also (even though they can hide your beautifully shaped eyebrows)... and I love your hair, and your overall look.

Thank you for sharing with your followers ....
Hugs and well wishes,

I think in the 1st 2 pics you looked very feminine the other 2 seemed to go a little on the masculine side but not much at all and glasses won't really matter I don't think but if your concerned about them then when you go glasses shopping just shop in the female glasses section that's what I did

@Dani I dont mind leaning towards andron atm, just want to try and get rid of whatever masculine stuff i can

@Sonja Thank you for the detail, the funny thing is i always though my nose was big and masculine, the eyebrow pencil is a good spot. They're trimmed down but that's all, they keep a nice shape on there own after removing any unibrow situation! Would like to get them properly shaped though at some point soon. I'm 35 and been on a steroid treatment for most of my life - from what ive read up on i prob wont get any wrinkles while still on the meds so might explain the skin. With not smiling in that photo, it's dam hard to get a nice shot with my phone! that's concentration on my face right there! most end up with some blur.

Wanna start getting some make up bits, think eyebrow pencil will be a good start

@KatieP
Hi Kate,  I agonized over whether I thought you should or needed to get anything done....It would be easy to rattle off a list of stuff but I've looked at a ton of websites with before and afters with many procedures and various ages etc and the only thing I feel confident in saying is -- only change something that really really needs it -- even on the pictures many website are showing are some obvious issues they had with asymmetry and various other issues that made me wonder whether the client had traded one problem for another. Which leads me to the skin around your eyes - upper eyelid, skin below the lower eye lid, IMO I wouldn't want anyone going near my eyes unless I had absolute confidence in the surgeon and that the results would be miraculous as to be worth the risk.
Upper lip was also something I was interested in when looking because my avatar photo is hiding the lipstick drawn beyond my upper lip line. Unfortunately when I studied many before and after photos I could only find 1 person who had a noticeable result that was larger AND natural looking ~4mm, virtually all the others had no noticeable change (about 1mm) but had a scar right underneath their nose from the procedure... what amab are after is quite obviously a natural looking larger upper-lip - something I have yet to find on a procedure website, but I continue to look. If anyone has their own success story or knows of a website showing many procedures in which there are obvious and natural looking results please post...

IMO When I look at your photos and keep your age in mind I would recommend you just......keep smiling! I don't think you need anything beyond non-surgical skin treatments. If you're not already - look into microneedling (dermarolling), SONOPHORESIS INFUSION, NON-SURGICAL FACELIFT - micro currents that stimulate muscles in the face to tighten and reduce sagging.  Many clinics usually have treatment plans that you pay weekly/monthly that get you regular and varied treatments that will have a noticeable effect over time when kept going - something my wife has asked for and probably going to get for a Christmas present from me.

Take care,

Sonja.

And, thank you so much for the really useful analysis and information!!! I REALLY appreciate it!

Everybody is growing older, although it can be fast or slow. We may make it look delayed with various methods.

The most effective methods of delaying aging is, IMO, applying everyday 1) moisturizing cream and 2) sun cream. The third is regular exercise.

If you are too late to do these, there are some modern dermatological procedures which are affordable. Botox, laser, and other stuffs that Sonja already mentioned.

But you can not reduce the wrinkles around your neck. I once saw a beautiful aged woman. Her face was surprisingly smooth, considering her age, but she could not hide the wrinkles around her neck. Her face and her neck were so much contrasting, looking very unnatural to my eyes. Nowadays, I can say that some young college girls have much more wrinkles in their neck than mine, and I guess the main cause is obesity among young kids. Nowadays I mind my wrinkles in the neck, trying to keeping my neck stand to not reveal them.

Vanity is vanity, and you may try some cosmetic procedures that are affordable as long as they will not cause any substantial side effect.

My neck wrinkles:

Woah, judging by the pictures I've seen of you I thought you were at least twenty years younger...

I've seen a lot of transwomen here who look a lot younger than their real age, actually. I wonder if there's some genuine correlation with transition and youthful appearance vs. cisgender women, or if I'm just not aware of the ages of most cisgender women I know.

@Barbie. Couldn't agree more about the exercising to slow down the aging process. I do weights 5 times a week and run 3 to 4 times a week. After a good run I notice that my skin firms up and I just get overall tighter younger looking skin. And this carries into the next day. I guess it boils down to getting your oxygen flowing and improving blood circulation. Whatever it is it works. Y'all all look fabulous to me! Maybe one day I'll get he nerve to post a pic or two...one day:)

I see that there are many pretty women here. The main thing is not give up.

In the age of 19-20, I was on HRT for 7 months. I stopped the treatment and at the age of 31, I think about the resumption of transformation. I currently have breast size 36 A and 35.5 in hips. Height 5 ft 7 in, weight 128 lb. I think I don't need FFS.

I have never been in public before en femme, because of my social anxiety, I'm going to check it out soon.

I have the biggest problem with facial hair and body hair. I do not qualify for laser or light, electrolysis is too expensive. It remains waxing and waiting for the effect of estradiol and androcur.

Yes. I have heard that transgender people tend to be optimistic and look younger.

In my case, facial wrinkles become noticeable at close distance. Until then people seem to think I am 30s or even 20s as they call me pronouns for young ladies in Korean. But eventually I can not hide it for everybody.
