The pat answer is to get therapy. It is very important you release yourself from you inner doubts. It is easiest with a disinterested third party that makes no judgements but is not afraid offering suggestions. I've been lucky in that regard, So too, I have been lucky to find others in the same situation. You are not alone. Come back often as this is a loving understanding environment in which to discover your inner self. One thing. Don't try on Grandma's makeup. I did and it was bazaar to say the least. My Uncle showed up and tried to come inside and I had engaged the chain on the door so he couldn't get in. He always wondered what I was doing in there. He assumed I had a girl with me. I guess maybe I did.

Yeah, I'd never try that on. lol. I buy my own. Unfortunately I don't have the money to see a therapist, as much as I'd like to. I know I won't get a diagnosis online but I know I can learn more by hearing what others have to say especially if they experienced the things that I do. Thank you. ^^

Snow Lights,

Welcome to the site.

Yup, my first thought is get to a therapist. Are you a student or able to get insurance? They help you take the list you made(and the things you forgot or were embarrassed to add) and help you make sense of them. They help you decide what path to take, and how to take it safely. They can also, if needed, give you a boot in the pants.

I started dressing when I was 8 or 9. I did not always know I wanted to be a girl. I did not really have the language or ability to think that to myself(I think I always knew it deep down). I had a lot of tendencies that were considered more effeminate. For the last 5 years, I have worn a rash guard when swimming(have not gone swimming since starting HRT.

It is common for dysphoria to come and go. It tends to go when we are busy and/or happy. That is why when people seek advice to cope with it, we usually suggest doing a hobby, tackling a project or volunteering. It sometimes keeps it at bay. I can say that, in my case, it never goes away. It also seemed to get stronger, the older I got.

I also wanted to give you a heads up. The way you phrased the sentence about cross dressers could upset or offend some. They are considered on the trans spectrum on this site. We try to be very inclusive and positive. So, while I don't think you intended it that way please be aware how it might be read.

Now that that is over I also want to share some links with you. They are mostly welcome information and the rules that govern the site. If you have not had a chance to look through them, please take a moment:

Things that you should read

Once again, welcome to Susan's. Look around, ask questions and join in.

With warmth,

Yeah, I realized it as I was typing it and forgot to correct it upon publishing the post, I corrected it though. Thanks for the reminder.

But, I'm not a student and between bills and everything I can't afford to do anything at the moment (money-wise). So, I'm just doing the best that I can for now and ask others and see what their thoughts are.
