It is sad to say that I am encountering my first ever complication... and it's making me feel very sad depressed and making me regret this surgery... I suspect a hypergranulation happening in the entrance of the vagina.... it is looking like an overgrowth tissues, it's red but not painful... I have called my doctor to set up an appointment for a silver nitrate treatment... I am really sad and depressed and I regret having the surgery now... I don't think it's worth it at all. Bye!

jujubes1986, Please hang in there. I hear this is a pretty common complication that eventually works out with treatments. Try to think about it as part of the journey with ups and downs. I am sure your life will be just fine with all the normal ups and downs of everyday life. Most of the girls I have talked to, that have had this happen, have said it was only a minor inconvenience that eventually heals quite well.

That is a super minor and expected issue; granulation is normal stage of wound healing, so all that happened is you're healing a little *too* well. 🙂 Since it's not even painful, this should be a very quick treatment and then it will finish healing properly. Seriously, this is no more worth worrying about than having a hangnail get infected, in terms of "complications."

Hang in there. Good rest and continued treatment. You will be as good as the day you were born (actually better). We all have ups and downs. I won't tell you to not be depressed(hello kettle this is pot). However, remember to count your "blessings" every so often too.

I had it and had to go back for for treatment 2 or 3 times and the biggest pain of the whole process was the doctor was about half an hour drive away from me. It stung a little bit but the doctor was in and out so fast there was little discomfort in the treatment. A few visits to the doctor and all will be well so don't worry about it. Your surgery isn't ruined, it only needs a little touch up to heal properly. There will be no lasting issues with the surgery due to this.

Granulation is probably the most common problem girls have after srs and the treatment is well known and easy to perform and give good results.

They said everything looks normal... it's not hypergranulation... it's just extra skin that's part of healing... she will look at it again in 2 weeks

Great news! If it helps, it's probably that it isn't *hyper*granulation - it's an expected amount of granulation that is an important step in the healing process. (I freaked out about a similar spot of granulation and was told that by Brassard's nurses: that it was granulation, but the key was whether the spot continued through to the next stage of healing or not.)

Pain and discharge are my worst enemy right now... douching doesn't clear out all the lube inside and it comes out little by little... how am I supposed to keep my vagina dry all day long...

The vagina isn't supposed to be dry and douching should be limited to what the doctor requests. If you are using water based jelly, it should drip out in a few minutes. I tend to dilate and then do my normal morning getting ready routine which includes my shower. By the time I am done with my shower, everything has dripped out and I am good for the day. As you are still close to surgery, keep a good supply of feminine pads and change them regularly.

You're supposed to keep the external parts as dry as you can, but I think they know there's only so much you can do - remember to let it air-dry whenever possible. 🙂

Yes I douche twice a day, it is in the manual that they gave us...  and I do try to air out as much as possible... thank you dena 🙂
