This is my first post here. For about 5 years I self medicated, then I finally found a doctor who is great with transgender people because her child is transgender.

For the past year I have been seeing her my dosage of Spironolactone has had to increase to <dosages not allowed> twice per day to get my testosterone to reduce enough. That amount of spironolactone is not sustainable for years. It can't be good for my liver, etc...

The solution is to either find another drug that works with my body better, or have an orchiectomy. My question is if I decide to have the orchiectomy,  does that ruin the results of GRS in the future, or are there methods now days that doctors use that can still be successful (natural looking, and deep enough) on a person who has had an orchiectomy.

This is from Dr Suporn in Thailand

"Bilateral orchiectomy is not recommended prior to SRS, but is permitted. If the scrotal sac has been removed, the applicant must seek elsewhere to undergo SRS."

amydane,

Welcome to the website.

I don't have enough information to answer fully. However, according to anecdotes I believe there are ways to work with or around an orchi. Usually they discourage that to give the most tissue available for re structuring. I encourage any to correct me but I believe the penile inversion needs more penile tissue than scrotum. This is all based on me having read many posts and concluding that.

I had to edit your post to get rid of the dosage amount. Our site does not allow the posting of dosages.  As this is your first post, it is not a surprise you may not have known that . To that end I am including links we try to pass along to newly posting members. They are mostly welcome information and the rules that govern the site. If you have not had a chance to look through them, please take a moment:

Once again, welcome to Susan's. Look around, ask questions and join in.
