So I've not posted in a while and thought I'd just pop in and do a bit of an update for anyone who is interested...

I'm now on T (woop woop) - Testogel. Started 2 weeks ago so early days, but pretty exciting! I have agreed a timeline for transition at work - my colleagues will all know by 2nd week of December, the rest of the school community by the end of term (22 Dec). There has been no issue with me transitioning at work and my boss actually seems pretty excited for me! I will also be having input into the School's policy and procedures around trans+ issues, so that's pretty validating too. I have told my church, who have said they need to think and have more conversations with me before decided if I can fully enter the life of the church (as a gay woman there were areas of church life that were off limits...).

And no, I haven't told my parents yet lol

Congrats! Sounds like everything is going well for you.

I'm curious what parts of church life were not available to you before that potentially would be now?

I was welcome to attend services, take communion and my son (nearly 3) has been able to access the kid's work facilities on a Sunday. However, I am not allowed to play any active serving role - I can't play in the worship group, help out in the creche, or even help serve tea and coffee after the service. And it took them 3 months to decide that it was OK to dedicate my son (bit like a christening) and that's now had to go back to the drawing board because I've told them I'm trans. The restrictions have all been because I presented to them as gay female. I'm hoping that now I'm just plain old straight male it won't be an issue, but it's an Assemblies of God church and they're pretty fundamental about everything...

Super congratulations on that, honestly must be rewarding to not only be fully welcomed as a man in your career but serve as an influence to the younger crowd and others around you by pioneering life as somebody who is transitioning. Im impressed, thanks for sharing your update

Congrats on starting T :). I'm on testogel myself; takes a while to get used to using it everyday but I'm definitely a fan of it now. Hope the church situation goes better; like WolfNightV4X1 said it'll be wonderful if you could be an influence for the church.
