So I called my big brother today. He came out as gay to the whole extended family over a year ago which has made it a lot easier on me to open up about myself. So I started by asking him if he knew of ant software jobs available in the city he lives in. I went on to explain that I was tired of having to remove the polish from my nails for work. He was silent for a bit. So I told him I'm transgender. He was stunned. He said he had no idea. When we hung up he said "I love you sis". That made my day!  ;D it was the best feeling!

So I'm now out to my mom and brothers, my kids, and my mother-in-law. The only people left are cousins I grew up with who live nearby and my grandparents. Grandma will be ok I'm sure. I'm not certain I'm going to push that on grandpa though. He's not in the best shape these days.

My wife and I spent the afternoon cleaning out old stuff from our closet. Seems like things between us are going to be alright. Happy today for sure. ;)
Overall a good day.

A lifetime of depression and repressed emotions is nothing more than existence. I for one want to live now not just exist!

Congratulations, Josie!  Being accepted by others may be the greatest gift of all.

My personal transition path included medical changes.  The path others take may require no medical intervention, or different care.  We each find our own path. I provide these dates for the curious.

Congrats Josie,
It feels great to have the weight of "the secret" off your back, doesn't it?
