Would the cost of 20K justify the desire of being shorter? It's not necessarily for passing purposes (although it be that too), but I like the idea of having very thick legs but are also short, and I like the idea of being at shoulder level to most guys. Right now I am just about a few inches shorter to guys.

But it would be for passing purposes too, but I would have Hobbit proportions. I am 5'6 and size 9.5 shoes, and height reduction will bring me to 5'1.

if i had 20k or access to there are many things that could be done, and this is not something on the list for me. can only imagine it would not be fun to say the least. how is this done?

You might want to consider the ramifications to your body proportions.  Women tend to have a higher ratio in terms of the proportion of their legs to their torsos.  To reduce your height proportionately would require removing elements of your spinal vertebrae, which would be incredibly dangerous.
What you look forward to has already come, but you do not recognize it.

That type of surgery would upset your proportions and you would have to avoid clothing that shows your natural waist. At 5'6" you are not that tall compared to my 6'2". If your height bothers you, the best solution is to wear flat shoes and that will keep you in the eye to eye range or lower. Women tend to be a bit leggy (longer legs in proportion to the rest of the body) and while this may reduce your height, it might expose another tell.

They surgically remove half the reduction from above and below the knee so you end up with a total of four breaks in your legs. Naturally your mobility is somewhat limited until the bones mend enough that you can walk again. This is a very old procedure and they preformed it on a woman when I was back in grade school. It kind of stuck in my mind because one of the woman teachers was over 6 foot tall. Her husband was so tall he had to bend his head to get through a door. I wondered if she would consider the surgery.

some of the most attractive women are tall , why on earth would someone ever consider this? I wouldn't mess with height , I lost a few inches anyways after a few years on HRT, I used to be 6ft , im now 5'10" and I think its sexy to be tall and somewhat amazonian lol what about models? Id also be concerned about pain in older years, i broke my wrist when I was in my 20s , now that Im in my 50s it hurts like heck sometimes especially in damp cold weather , imaging 4 breaks in the legs?

Consider yourself blessed. At 6'3" and size 14 feet, I hate you already. Not, ;D  We all want what we ain't got. By the time I got through breaking legs and feet, hands, arms I would lose interest. Too bad I'm not a ShrinkyDink. Just throw me on the heating element and watch me meeeelt into shape.

I'm taller than Gwendoline Christine (<3) and I'm perfectly content with that. (6'4", WOOT.) That said, 5'6" isn't notably tall, not even runway height without heels. (I believe that's 5'8"-5'9" minimum? unless that's changed.) I can't tell you what to do, but I'd personally be saving my money for other things like YAY tattoos, FFS, breast enlargement if necessary, or you know, keeping money for a rainy day.

I honestly had no clue such a thing existed! The more you know! (Now if only there was surgery to reduce broad shoulders/large rib cage -grumble- -grumble- Though at 5'9 I don't think I'd ever want this type of surgery despite wishing i was a few inches shorter as my legs are already on the shorter side with a 29" inseam at 5'9 T_T

I'm the same height as you honestly if you would look normally short after the surgery ( no longer arms etc )
GO for it [emoji76] that way you can look cute and feminine all the time
True being tall is sexy but you can dress highheels etc
Most guys here are under 5'6 and girls are under 5'2
If I had the money I will do it right away lol
Plus point they always give short girls younger age than the tall girls [emoji75][emoji1319]
