OMG OMG

2 week tmo i go too montreal and only 17 more days till surgery
im SOOOOOOOOOO scared and excited but scared and happy ahhhhh

sorry just needed to tell someone lol

MissGendered

Sooo excited for you, hun!!!!

I was a basket-case waiting to get there, I was soo nervous something would happen to prevent my trip!

These two weeks will fly by, I was surprised, I thought they would drag out, but it was more like being sucked into a whirlpool, lol, spinning faster and faster the closer to 'the hole' I got, lol...

It is a lovely place to go for such a life-changing event. The recovery residence was an exceptionally nice bonus to the private surgical center, too. In spite of the pain, it was a very, very joyful time for me. I cried my eyes out when I went back for revisions, my real life began there, and I am crying again right now, cuz it never gets old..

Happy, happy, joy, joy!!

Woo hoo!
I can still picture the night before my surgery, sitting on my bed, laughing it up with another gal who shared the same room.
Next morning, Dr. Brassard came into the room and said to me "you're first."
I seem to recall lying there in the operating room around 8:15am or so...10:30 I was back in my room on Facebook lol.

You'll love Dr. brassard and his team if you haven't met them yet.
And the staff at the recovery centre - top notch.

Wishing you good vibes, prayers, and happiness ahead.

There were 3 girls that went on Monday, and three more on Tuesday. I was the last of all, on Tuesday, because they weren't sure what they would find when they cut me open, since I am xx intersex and I was born with a vagina and uterus and gawd only knew what else. Still, the surgery only took a bit less than 2 hours, and back to my room I went, sooo happy, still sooo high, with no feeling in my legs, but still, sooo excited to be 'done'...

Yeah, Dr, Brassard and Dre. Belanger are such kind, concerned, thoughtful, and talented human beings. The goodwill they both have stockpiled in the universe must be immense. What a great job to have, setting butterflies free...

I will see them again for work on my trachea and vocal cords someday. Dr. Brassard's technique allows 48hours for re-adjustment if something isn't right. I like that. I don't wanna end up too high and squeaky, lol. My voice is great now, but singing is an effort, and I can still talk as low as I used to, if I try, though the last time I did for about 30 seconds, it gave me a very sore throat, ha! Serves me right, I think, lol..

Oops, I am rambling, but I get giddy when I think of Montréal, I really do, I can't help it!!

Missy,

Lol...good times.
Dr. brassard did my trache a few years ago  so it was nice when I returned for GRS, I knew who he was. Good looking guy eh?

Funny about the trache. I rememebr lying on the operating table, I was drugged, yet awake. I recall them making the incision, but I wear they cut me from ear to ear...even though the scar was like 1 inch.
While my throat was open and they were doing their thing, something they were lasering flew up in the air, and like slow motion I could see it, and it landed on my cheek. Dr. Brassard dabbed whatever it was off my cheek. I think the operation was 20 minutes.
I was home same day as I'm only 1.5 hour train ride to Montreal.

Nina,

Yes, he is indeed a handsome man, o-m-g! Yes, I was crushing on him, I imagine he get's that a LOT, ha!

Thank you for the info on the trachea work, did you get your vocal cords tightened, too?

I know I was sooo weirded out by being awake when Dre. Belanger resected my 'V' scar, even after the not-so-fun numbing shots, of which there were waaaay too many, I could still feel pressure and blood dripping, She also worked on my clitoral hood, and the shots for that were like, omfg, horrid, too...

I have read about other girls getting trachea shaves elsewhere, and they all seemed grossed out by the burning laser and scalpel on their necks...

Please tell me it was a piece of cake with Dr. Brassard!!

Sorry to derail your thread, Ms. Zoey, but rest assured, you won't feel a thing when you have your SRS, it will be a piece of cake AND a bowl of ice cream, too!

:-) Missy

Exciting times! So happy for you! You will soon be talking about your recovery. My referral hit a wall! I have to go back to my doctors and therapist for more letters and information. After all this time, seven months, I thought I was close to a date, but........ Depressing!

I'm so sorry Hun. I had a similar issue with mine. As long as your dr's get on it in a timely fashion it shouldn't add too much time to it overall. Just stay strong it will happen soon :)

Thanks mszoey! This has thrown me for a loop. I am meeting my therapist today and she is getting a letter and second referral in ASAP. It is so good for me to be able to follow the you and the other ladies, who are having and have had surgery with our Dr. Brassard!

And that week will pass quickly! Exciting times! Oh, I did find out I was missing another referral letter! It only took over six months of review to find that out! Anyway, the currant president of W-PATH has agreed to do the assessment and letter for me!

I wonder if the same lady running the kitchen at the recovery house is there still. Loved her...she was funny. I even shared a couple recipes with her, but can't recall her name.

So excited for your day. I can feel my heart pounding with excitement for you.

You're in awesome hands.

Flaurence :)  She was awesome.

Yeah, she was a highlight to the whole adventure, she was so sweet, and funny, and kept us all very well-fed and nourished.

I was always dieting back then, and she would chide me, saying "Eat now to heal better, Missy La Belle, diet later when you are ready for the boys!", lol...

Yeah, good times, such good, good times!!
