Hello. I'm at 34 year old man whose been living a lie since the 3rd grade. I always felt that I was different and would secretly wear my sisters clothes when no one was around. Like Bruce Jenner, I was very good at hiding this because I knew that my family and friends at the time would never accept me if they knew this. I thought I can hide and snap out of the spell I was under with time. But time made it harder and harder to fight this feeling. I recently ordered hundreds of dollars in makeup and clothes and wanted to know if there are any girls out there that look like acceptable girls in the Astoria, NY area who can help and give me some pointers and tell me what I can do to improve. I don't know if this is the right place to be posting this, but I figure its a start.

Its amazing how many of our stories start the same way...  Welcome to the forum.  I'm sure that you'll find a lot of help here.  :)  I'm out in Washington state, but if I can help please feel free.
At what point did my life go Looney Tunes? How did it happen? Who's to blame?... Batman, that's who. Batman! It's always been Batman! Ruining my life, spoiling my fun! >:-)

Welcome to Susan's Place. There is a section reserved for beauty on the site and there is a huge amount of information there. In addition, there are several beauty supply stores more than willing to give you a makeover for little cost or for the price of the makeup you need. There is a surprising number of trans friendly stores out there than will be able to help you with many problems.

We issue to all new members the following links so you will best be able to use the web site.

Thanks for all the help and replies :). The site has a ton of info :). I just wish I had a life coach that can help me with everything. I'll navigate and do what I can to understand the process. I want to go out on NYE, but it might be too soon for me. I'd like to look as female as possible :)

Possibly you might become a member of a group, social or therapy where you could get some help. An easy way to locate one is to google "city name LGBT" and most of the time, a LGBT center will turn up in the first page.

Lots and lots of practice... which is difficult to do without actually going out. You can do it from your living room, but it'll take a bit longer. A good aestetitician is the best place to start.  You can always book a private appointment if you're shy about doing it at the makeup counter in the mall.  As for mannerisms, I picked it up from people watching and pole dancing lessons.  Which is actually very helpful when learning to move more gracefully. Clothes are tough withuot going out to try stuff on.  The store clerks are usually pretty helpful in the malls. Trying to find your colors and getting the fit just right is the whole key.
