I am 13 and am wondering if A) If doctors can start you on testosterone at 13 and B) Does North Carolina's Medicaid pay for testosterone if it is prescribed

Welcome to Susan's Place. At age 13 it's not likely that you will be put on Testosterone. Normally, you would be placed on an Estrogen blocker that would stop feminine development and reduce the dysphoria that you are feeling. You would continue to grow and become taller than if your body remained on Estrogen. When your are judged old enough, you would make the decision to start Testosterone.

As for medicaid coverage, I don't know. That coverage varies from state to state and as I have always been on private insurance, I don't know what it covers.
