My wife and I saw a Facebook ad for the MAC lipstick giveaway so we decided to go to our local mall early yesterday and score some lipstick. I got to go as me so I put on a sleeveless top, American Eagle khaki jeggings, flats and grabbed a Coach cross body bag to complete the ensemble. I went with my hair pulled back and no makeup on. I had passed with my hair pulled back on a dinner outing a few days back so I felt confident.
We arrived ten minutes after opening. There was a long line at Macy's and a much longer one at the MAC store in the mall. We got in the line at Macy's but they ran out of the giveaways not long after.
We looked at the other line. I caught a few stares from the women in line. Oops, I'm getting clocked.
We decided not to wait in that line. We were there to have fun after all. We stopped at another makeup store for brushes, contouring makeup and a free lip liner on my wife's account. Then we stopped in a jewelry store. I decided to fix my hair because I was still catching a stare or two. I used a mirror to pull a barrette and fix my hair over my forehead. No more stares and I'm happy. Now it's time to shop. Off to Victoria's Secret where the salesgirl chatted with us about the MAC giveaway and I was treated as totally female. We bought lots of underwear there. With our purchase we got a free large tote/cooler bag that will be perfect for our road trips.
Then we went to Aeropostale for cute T shirts and sweatpants for me -- and one oversized men's T shirt that I love on me. It makes me look real cute wearing it over short shorts.
After that, lunch at the food court-- a mushroom burger from Johnny Rockets for me and Hawaiian teriyaki chicken and rice from a California fusion place for my wife.
On the way out we stopped in Macy's again. My wife could not find the contouring stick she wanted at Anastasia so we went to the MAC counter. The girl there was amazing. She matched me for foundation and setting powder and found me a beautiful coral lipstick. My wife got set up with a great lipstick shade too. We went home happy after a wonderful outing.
My wife still did not find that contour stick so after yard work today we are going to Ulta. 😊
