Hello !

I had FFS a bit over 5 weeks ago (frontoplasty+rhinoplasty+adam'sapple), and I was wondering whether or not I can bleach my hair (they're black). I'm going to a pro, but he told me that this would probably hurt a lot. And he was worried about my scar.

Any experience to share ?

Thanks a lot !  :-*

No direct personal experience, but as always, contact your surgeon first.

My surgeon said it's OK. But I prefer to have real experience from people who did it.

My hairdresser said it will definitely hurt like hell.

I have not had FFS but I have had staples and stitches in the head on 2 seperate times and got my hair coloured  a few weeks after each healed and yes it still burned like crazy. That is the best i can say

When I was getting a perm, my hair dresser had a cream that she applied to sensitive areas to keep the perm solution from burning the skin. If the cream isn't available, I would consider waiting 2-3 months before applying harsh chemistry to ensure you are fully healed.

Was the pain manageable ?

My surgeon said it's OK. And I'm ready to suffer. I wonder how terrible the pain will be though.

Oh, and I hope it won't prevent the scar from disappearing.

You can manage it yes does hurt like hell, if the bleach and dye stay on to long it will burn the scare it feels like a really bad sunburn times by 100 it can be done but I am saying it will probably hurt.

Do not use hot hair rollers or get your hair cut or colored for six weeks.

Personally, I would wait up to 8 weeks just in case.

Thanks.

I'll go at +8 weeks with some paracetamol and a good read.
