I realize I am sort of feminine but so superficially like I like doing make up either for someone else or myself and I like my hair kind of long. I mentioned this to my therapist the other day but generally even the attire I prefer tends to to still be male oriented. Sometimes I don't feel like the groups in the trans support group make me feel similar in the sense I don't though try to wear male attire in private because it doesn't really help or hurt my situation and when I wear them outside people always just think I'm a lesbian and I'm like the opposite of a lesbian so that gets me no closer to my ideals. Advice?

Yes you can. I'm mtf, but look very feminine, due to long use of hrt, yet have a very macho military past/male oriented skill sets(welding, masonry, carpentry, the trades),law enforcement, now white collar. Other people maybe effected by your gender expression/orientation and it does effect me, in just that they get me wrong, gets me frustrated at times(when I'm heckled/looked/pointed at), yet we know we can be unicorns, trailblaze and break down barriers for others. I'm my rough and tumble part of L.A, the majority of people are low income/education, blue collar, 1st generation latin americans or African americans. People here would have a fit seeing a gay couple with children, much less, latin american transgender nonconforming gender expresion/sexual orientation, person/unicorn, other parts of L.A., its wholy embraced.

Needless to say, I adjust my behavior/expressions/clothing, according to my environment. Chameleon type of thing.
P.S. I mostly express my male side , when its absolutely, positively must be needed, like when I'm being threatened/threatening environment(military science/law enforcement doctrine) or need manual labor done(doing outside/inside house carpentry work, plumbing, welding, automechanics/landscaping, tye of thing.)

I think androgynous apperance/female/male expression, different sexual orientation is da bomb :)
To know thyself is to be blessed, but to know others is to prevent supreme headaches
Sun Tzu said it best, "To know thyself is half the battle won, but to know yourself and the enemy, is to win 100% of the battles".

yeah for me my issue rest mainly in identity I hardly understand expression though my expression is more masculine I prefer pants and sneakers and certain shirts that are more neutral than feminine but my main issue is the physical form for me.

The exact thing that feels right to you is what is correct. There's no rulebook at all.   :)

Also, feminine dudes are awesome!

You can be whatever you want and present however you want. There are feminine trans guys, masculine trans girls, anything you can imagine. You can even be transmasculine batman and have pink nails if that's how you feel like.
