Finally got to see my endo today. It was a positive experience. The staff weren't rude and the doc was super supportive in calling me by my name. Unfortunately, she was unable to begin my hormone treatment yet, but I went ahead and faxed my letter from my counselor and she ordered my lab, which I went immediately and did. Ugh. I have to wait another two weeks to get results and finally get my hormones. Happy sad day. Mostly happy.
@ SiobhanF: Hang in there and be determined and resolute with your transition desires.
Waiting can be the very toughest part of transitioning... and be advised, once your finally start your HRT then the waiting even becomes more difficult to deal with.
As I always tell everyone here regarding HRT, "Patience is required, usually nothing happens very quickly with HRT" .... and it can be a slow and dogged process. Body changes, especially significant body changes can take time, the amount of time that it will take for your unique body to change is really up to your body. What you read about others transition timelines and how their body (and mind) have changed most likely will not be your exact experience, so do read about and learn from what others have experienced but please understand that you will have your own unique and specific journey.... we all want quick changes and for some than might happen, human nature usually dictates "I want it all and I want it now" ..... but NOW you must have patience!!!!
Please keep us updated regarding your HRT and transition journey and might I suggest, unless you have already done so, is for you to start your own personal and private
journal that you can write down the details of what is happening with your transition journey... writing about your successes, your disappointments, your goals and your problems can be very good therapy and will later on be a reminder of the grand journey that you have undertaken.
Best wishes and well wishes to you,
Danielle
